I want to start with i'm not a professional. I have finish a few concrete pads and have used a bull float before. I got this because i wanted to poured a pad for a shed. The fit and finish is not that great. The poles are made of really thin material. It may not be the best float in the world but it got my job done.

You get what you pay for, and there's a reason why Magnesium is popular. It's much lighter. For what I needed to do (8yr slab), this was the right choice. Just understand that it'll be heavy when it's all the way out. Get ready to work it. If I poured all the time, I'd buy a lighter one. For the once in a while pour, this will work fine. Finish quality and how it cleaned up was great.

This is a competent concrete tool that's done a completely adequate job on a smaller concrete patio recently, and will likely get some heavier use in the near future on a couple slabs. In my experience, this type of float is known as a fresno, and it generally gets put to work when a smooth surface is desired. The 4 foot float is properly wide to cover a lot of area quickly, and the screw mechanism on top works just as advertised. The action is perhaps a bit sloppy compared to a new "name brand" competitor, but it seems that this slop will develop on any of these tools after years of use on site. Furthermore, the slop isn't necessarily a bad thing when you consider that concrete gunk will inherently get its way around this mechanism and need to be washed or scraped off.The float's stainless plate is nice and flat and rather beefy. There's no apparent deflection on the edges when in use. The fasteners all fit where they're supposed to as well. What I sincerely appreciate about this set is that it came with 16 feet of poles that also fit a blue competitor's poles...so now I'm rocking a very long collection of float poles! For me, this kind of stuff makes my day.Altogether, for the price, this is a fine tool to have in my setup. It won't see daily use, but may be seeing quarterly use, and looks up to the task of floating my work out for years to come.

This tool will do a fine job if you know how to use it but, it is not a tool for someone who does the work, day in day out. It is on the light duty or "economy" side. Perfect for those that only use these type of tools once in a while or for your own projects. Knowing some concrete contractors, I can tell the difference, their tools are quite a bit heavier/better made. however, these are great for the advanced DIY'er that is up to pouring their own shed/garage slabs, sidewalks etc. as they don't have the high price tag of those truly professional tool. Great for me as I do all the work I need done myself.

I should preface my comments by saying that I’m not a concrete finisher. I end up pouring a lot of footers, tube forms and small concrete pads quite often and wanted to be able to do some larger projects for my own property. The only positive thing I have to say about this product is that the gears that adjust the angle of the float work smoothly. There is a noticeable lack of attention to detail in all of the finishes. The float itself has burs from being cut out that are large enough and sharp enough to slice your hand. The float has scratch marks and the handle has dents along with the scratches.I understand that this product is made for working with concrete and that it will get dings and scratches because of that. I still expect quality craftsmanship from the products I order and this one doesn’t make the grade

Came with missing parts. Gear is stiff and unusable unless you spin it while lifting the extension pole above your head. Horrible product.

The Fresno itself isn't bad but the poles are absolute junk.
