Sounds great and looks great. Came with an electric tuner that works! I had it tuned and in no time was learning to play "Lava" on the Ukelele. Very impressed and my teen loves it and was able to easily use the tuner and instructions. She watches tutorials on Youtube to learn to play it. Great purchase I recommend! It does seem to need tuning every time we pick it up but honestly that is expected on most string instruments.

The ukelele sounds pretty and we are looking forward to learning with it. We used an online tuner since the one that came with the kit cannot be turned on, no matter how many times we reinstalled the battery (which we tested and is good).

Great sound and nice feeling strings. The wood body is smooth and has a great finish. The tuning is good as well. Nice tone and reverb when playing. Feels more expensive than it was. Great value.

it's a great ukulele I've always wanted one funny it took 5 years to get one. it comes with everything as needed trust me and ps- go easy on the strings if you're a beginner, not that's there fragile or anything just doesn't let the excitement take over that far. it's a great first uke I recommend.

I currently play guitar and wanted to try something new.. so I did my research and this was affordable for my level. It’s a beautiful ukulele, the case is very light and the tuner works perfectly.... but, I have to tune the ukulele almost every other song. Personally I’m not bothered because I hear it right away, but it can be a little annoying. Otherwise it is amazing and perfect for beginners.

This is a very nice-looking instrument, made from attractive wood. It seems to be of good quality, especially considering the price. The included tuner works well (and is crucial as new nylon strings go out of tune quickly). Tone seems quite good. Highly recommend getting a concert size, rather than a soprano, if you are starting out, as the neck is slightly wider and it is easier to form the chords. Excellent, at least for a beginner like myself.

This ukulele was an awesome find. For $40, you get a case, tuner, picks, and strings. I showed this ukulele to my friend who has been playing the ukulele for several years, and has gone through a lot of them. She said that it one of the best ukuleles she played, and better than the more expensive brands. Its easy to strum and pretty loud. Definitely a great deal.

TO BE CLEAR: I give this instrument FIVE STARS! I love this uke for what it is, but let us not pretend that it is something it is not. PERFECT for a beginner--but a terrible choice for a student.PRO: Low price and not a toy. Looks and plays just fine out of the box (once the strings are broken in).CON: Durability. Likely to wear out or break down after several months to a year of regular play.TL;dr: If you are trying to decide if you want to learn to play the ukulele or not, and you don't want to commit a lot of money to finding out the answer, stop reading this review and buy this ukulele right now. It's high enough quality that you won't feel like you're plonking on a toy, and if you decide the ukulele is not for you, this is about the right amount of money to spend on that lesson. If you DO decide you like the ukulele--like this ukulele helped me to see--then recognize that extreme affordability comes at the price of longevity.Other reviewers have said that the tuners give out after several months to a year. This is why I do not recommend this ukulele for a student. A student has an up-front commitment of hundreds of hours of practice, and an investment in expensive lessons. Better to invest in a quality instrument up front so the lessons do not slowly become maddening as the ukulele starts refusing to stay in tune.My ukulele is still going strong but I've only had it for two months. I've since learned that I *do* want to play the ukulele, and I've already moved up to a higher-grade--and much more expensive--instrument. It's got a better tone, but I still play this inexpensive one, and I plan to keep playing my little Mayfly until the poor thing gives out.So... be aware of what you're paying for here. A great ukulele, for a while. Learn it, like it... and if you love it, you know you're ready to move up to a relationship with a more durable instrument.Five stars. Feels like a uke, sounds like a uke. Helped me fall in love with the instrument.
