Seems to do great for my tortoise- I wish it wasn’t such a process to dissolve it all but it’s not too bad- the product itself is great and I will continue to use :-)

Great soil substitue however very hard to take apart. its great if your putting blocks down as the base but my fit required me to take these apart and shred it with a sharp rock to get the soil filled in. Ingredients are amazing, helps with humidity control but dont expect to open this and its easy to take apart. its compacted for a reason though. filled up my tank quick.

We just switched our ball python over to this and have been using it for our tarantula. As soon as the ball python was placed back in his brand new tank with his brand new substrate He immediately started rolling around and we noticed that he was shedding better. He had been struggling with shedding despite having shed boxes and plenty of humidity with the wood chips we were using. However I would like to caution anyone who does not know: to break this apart you have to soak it in water and it will expand quickly. We originally were just going to change the substrate however once we cleared out the old substrate we realized the entire bottom of the tank was cracked so I held the ball python to keep him warm while my husband rushed back to the store to get his new terrarium. As I was holding the ball python surrounded by all of the furniture we were rearranging that day, and watching the maintenance man work on our dishwasher I was slowly freaking out inside watching the bricks that I had purchased rising up out of the bowls they were in. 😂 It was like an Indiana Jones race against time for my husband to get back so we could transfer the new substrate before it decided to take over the kitchen island. We had four bowls each one with one brick in it. It was a hilarious ordeal and in no way changes how well this product works. This also makes the tank much easier to clean. And now I don't have to worry about my ball python being a derp and getting a wood chip stuck in his mouth when he eats which happened frequently before and I would have to help get it out. His new terrarium looks amazing with this substrate and has made him a very happy little snake. I highly suggest this substrate! Just remember you have to soak it in hot water to break it up and it will expand faster than you expect 😂 My tarantula is a Mexican red knee tarantula and they like to burrow. He loves this substrate and frequently burrows to molt and then of course gets angry when I dig out said molt. But he has burrowed down underneath one of his houses and we affectionately call it his townhouse. It retains moisture and heat incredibly well. So if you are not adding this to your cart right now and you have some lovable little derpy herps in your life, then do so right now! It's a game changer.

This pack comes out cheaper and more convenient than buying a single brick at a normal store. You can plop the brick in a good amount of water and leave it sit and absorb, or you can have fun with it and break it apart and play with it as it is expanding. Messy playing with it but worth it. The ball python seems to greatly enjoy it also

First time using coco coir for my GALS and really disappointed. I wasn't sure what to expect but found multiple foreign objects! Small bits of plastic and even what looks like a bandage! Picked out what I could but if using for reptiles as stated on product could result in ingestion of this items which is extremely dangerous! Won't buy again.
