This notebook is just as well made as the more expensive name brands. It has one finger D ring release, the hinges appear to be identical to those other brands, and there are two pockets inside (although they could be a littie bit taller). I needed notebooks that were long enough to accommodate long dividers. Avery and the other name brands do not publish their notebook dimensions either on Amazon or on their web sites and, at least in the case of Avery, there is no way on their web site to ask the question and no number to call. This notebook is exactly what I needed and the apparent quality is an added bonus.

Purchased a package of two of these note books. After the very first day that I put them into service the top ring in one of the books did not come together correctly. Whenever I needed to thumb through the book for a specific document, the @$*&% ring would come apart and a large portion of the pages would fall out of the book. I was forced to put the pages back into the note book one at a time. Yeah I have time for such a task as this. As soon as I can I'm going to the closest office store and replace what I have. These notebooks aren't work two cents as far as I'm concerned.

The white notebooks have a clean look -- I like the clear front and spine so you can put a label in them. Mechanism works well.
