These are nice quality, thick envelopes, great for mailing documents without having to fold them up. The self seal closures stay put. As far as whether they are see-through: they do not have a "security" lining, but they are pretty close to being entirely opaque. Because they are 10 x 13, you can fit a lot of papers inside.

The envelope has a good seal and it's easy to use but it's sheer and someone could hold it up to the light and can obtain sensitive information if they wanted to. For mailing brochures, photos, and non-sensitive documents this works great. Even for photos I would probably wrap it around some blank paper in order to ensure security of content.

Fully immersed in the digital age, as someone that sews I print out a lot of patterns. I've started storing my patterns in large labeled envelopes, and these are the perfect size. They store well on a shelf/box, are a predictable size, and sturdy.These would be fine for regular mailing, but with anything flat you'd want a piece of cardboard to protect photos/etc as usual. They are not tyvek, but sturdy paper. I was not able to immediately see through them, but definitely would be able to read through them if the envelope was held up to the light.Pretty standard, large quantity, good value. I'll get a lot of good use out of these.

I think this is a great value. As others stated, they are a bit see-through so you might want to be careful if you are trying to use these for sensitive documents or information. But, for storing items at home or mailing full size documents, these will work great.
