How To Measure:
Use a soft, flexible tape measure from a sewing kit. A metal tape measure from your toolbox or a yard stick may give you inaccurate readings.
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips.
Waist: Measure around the natural waistline, allowing the tape measure to sit comfortably
Measure from the top of the interior leg to the bottom of the ankle

The pants fit well, and are comfortable. The only reason for 3 stars is that I can't take off the legs with out removing my boots when hiking. I knew this when I bought them, but I didn't realize how much of an inconvenience this would be. My wife has a pair from a different brand that have a built in zipper at the bottom of each pant leg - she can take off her pant legs without removing her hiking shoes. She's ready to continue hiking and I'm sitting on a wet log and haven't removed my first boot yet.

I bought the pants for my husband fir casual use. The color is very nice. The pants made well. If they have size 33 it would be better fit for my husband.

A relaxed fit, I am a 33 waste size, 34 fits without using a belt. Feels light weight. Quality obvious.

I bought a pair of these pants several years ago because they convert to shorts with a quick zip. They stood up so well that I bought another pair in a different color. They're great for morning golf because when cool mornings warm up half way through your game - zip, zip - your wearing shorts!!

Do not listen to any of the reviews for these Columbia hiking pants. These pants are VERY POOR quality. The fabric used is extremely cheap and thin and will tear the first time you sit on a log or rough rocks on a hike. The fabric is so thin it is almost see thru in the buttocks area. The side pockets are extremely thin mesh that will not be able to hold anything because they will rip it. Forget about any keys or phones. Just forget using them for anything. The cut and looseness due to the cheap fabrics on these convertable pants is so that if you use them as pants, the bottoms of the leg sections actually go under your ankles by a few inches, giving them an effective in seem length of closer to 34 inches than the 30 inches it states.I don't leave reviews often but this is absolutely horrible quality and I'm returning them. I would have never bought such poor quality pants if I had tried them on in store. There are better quality convertible pants for less money than what Amazon is charging here.

I use these pants hunting and hlthey have proved excellent very breathable, dry quick and are comfy and packreally small and lightweight.Others have complained the material is to thin and rips easily which I dont believe as I have worn through rough dense terrain for multiple days straight. Only thing to consider is the athletic dit if you are heavy set these might not fit your build

I wear these pants and I love them. They are convertible so you can wear them as long pants are short pants. I prefer long pants because they help me feel cooler in the heat and warmer in the cold and protect my legs. My wide leather belt fits in the loops. There is a front pocket with a zipper where you can keep your wallet. There is a Velcro closed front pocket where you can keep other items. There are two back pockets that are Velcro closed for soft items.

Great pants. Comfortable, Light, packs extremely well. They hold up great while traveling. You're comfortable, and able to move freely. Tons of pockets / zippers. I really like these pants. I take them on all of my trips.

These pants were ordered at a 34 waist. Usually 34 is roomy for all my pants and still is for all of the 34" ones that I own. However, these 34's are without much wiggle room, so if you are looking for relaxed comfort, a size larger may do better.... The material is great for summer wear, light and if wet, dries quickly.

nice pants...I like the cut compared to other similar pants I tried. These are not too baggy and not tight at all. I have a pair of the REI convertibles and they are way to baggy. I can actually hike in these when they are soaked and there is not too much flopping. (there is still flopping but least out of all pants I tried)Material thickness is just right..not too thin and not to thick.great cut IMO

These pants fit all of my expectations. The size was very true to my size I think, length was true as well. Overall, there isn't too much more to say other than these pants are great if you are looking for a fairly priced convertible pants that are non-cotton (I believe these are 100% nylon). Great for active-wear, dries very quickly, and lots of pockets to store things in! The fact that it comes with a very nice belt is also a big plus.
