Use these two secure my packouts in the back of my truck. One key I locks all. Don't seem to be affected by weather.

These are advertised as weatherproof, presumably because they have a rubber cap that fits over the keyhole. Trouble is, the fit of the cap is loose and it soon would not stay on. Then the interior rapidly rusts and seizes.I bought them for my ranch fences because they're all keyed alike. Now I have to spray liberally with WD-40 each time I ride the fence lines. Otherwise they'll seize after the first rain and NO KEY FITS.

I have had them for less than a month. I love color coding an entire set that all work with one key and having extra keys for the people I trust. They worked OK at first. They did not feel as solid and well fitted together as a Master lock, but they're 1/3 the price. Well, it rained and a day later, I opened one and then had it refuse to relock when it was closed. I took it back with me and hit it with WD40 pretty liberally and now it works again. But I wouldn't use it in heavy exposure to the elements. The little seal over the key slot does not protect the connection between the shank/shackle and the lock body. It's a little loose and the water goes right in.

I bought a 12 pack of these on September 10th. Lost the key to my Masterlock and wanted cheap keyed-alike locks, so these looked like a good buy. Plus I liked the Red covering on the lock. They look okay upon initial inspection. First time holding these things in my hand I knew they might be more trouble than good, and I was right. Rightfully so, they feel about as cheap as they are to buy. I should have known better, and the phrase of "you get what you pay for" rings true. They feel cheap and plastic-like, although they aren't. Latch worked well, key fit nicely, so I decided to try them out anyway. When I went to install the lock the rubber sleeve was sliding around on the shackle making it hard to pass through the holes to lock. Cutting the end of the sleeve down and moving the sleeve back into position after placing the lock seemed to do the trick to get it closed and in the right position. A month later when first trying to undo the lock it was hard to operate. Could barely turn the key to open and fought to get it to re-lock. Lubed the locked and slammed it home, problem solved. Just this week, 2 months since the purchase, ran into similar problems, except I couldn't get them to re-lock at all. Replaced all 4 with 4 new ones. I anticipate I'll have the same problems again, especially now that the locks are going into weathered months. I might be lucky enough to get 6 months out of them if I don't have to get into my boxes much.Bottom line: Do yourself a favor and spend the money, buy a quality lock the first time. I know I'll be doing so soon.
