I am a longtime quilter. Based on experience I wouldn't buy any need except the James brand. They really are a class to themselves.

These needles arrived very early and are as described. I am in a quilt group and this week we will be getting together and doing some hand quilting. I always have a hard time threading the usual hand quilting needles so decided to try these large eye needles. I hope they come up to my expectations and will edit this review later and give my opinion on use.A few days later, 08/07/2024: We had our class on hand quilting and I was able to give the instructor one of my new big eye needles. She used it all through the class and was happy with it. I also found it was quite a bit easier to thread than the standard quilting needle of the same size, but not as easy as I thought it would be-. I am happy with my purchase and would definitely buy from this seller again.

This needle is short which I love. Eye is nice size--larger than regular size.

These quality needles are a dream to use- makes sewing on quilt bindings so much better. No dragging through the fabric, much less effort involved. Previously, I always just used store brand needles to do hand sewing but will never use anything else now.

My eyesight isn't what it used to be, so I was glad to find these. However, when I first started quilting with them, the thread would come out of the needle while quilting. Added to this, was the fact that often, when the thread came out of the needle, it snagged or shredded the thread, so I would have to cut the thread short and thread the needle with new thread. Very frustrating and such a waste of thread! BUT, with experience, I discovered that instead of using the needle to pull the thread, if I pulled on the thread itself, I didn't have the problem stated above.
