About Coleman
More than 100 years ago, a young man with an entrepreneurial spirit and a better idea began manufacturing lanterns in Wichita, Kansas. His name was W.C. Coleman, and the company he founded would change life in America. A man plagued with such poor vision he sometimes had to ask classmates to read aloud to him, Coleman saw a brilliant light in 1900 in a drugstore window that stopped him in his tracks. He inquired about the light inside and discovered he was able to read even the small print on a medicine bottle by the illumination. The lamps had mantles, not wicks, and were fueled by gasoline under pressure instead of coal oil. Soon afterward, Coleman started a lighting service that offered a "no light, no pay" clause--a big step forward for merchants who were burned by inferior products that rarely worked--and drew substantial interest from businesses that wanted to keep their lights on after dark.

In the ensuing years, Coleman expanded its product line well beyond lanterns. The company's current catalog is thick with products that make spending time outdoors a pleasure. There are coolers that keep food and drinks cold for days on end, comfortable airbeds that won't deflate during the night, a complete line of LED lights that last for years, powerful portable grills that cook with an authentic open-grill flame, and much, much more. Coleman has truly fashioned much of our outdoor camping experience, and expects to do so for generations to come.

Overall it’s an ok, durable percolator that’s easy to clean, just wish the internals were the same diameter as the top opening so they don’t slide around inside (like my smaller Coletti percolator). The internals don’t move around enough to prevent you from seeing the coffee in the glass cap, but it would have given the percolator a more premium feel. Also, the tube that connects the internals was slightly crooked.I ended up taking out the internals and I use it for making cowboy coffee, and for that it is great. Opening is big enough to get your hand in to clean out the grounds and it feels durable enough to use even on a campfire (haven’t tried a fire yet though, just electric stovetop).

Had to order a replacement because the 1st one was warped around the edge. The second one was not warped but came with a broken glass knob but I kept it and just ordered a couple of replacement knobs from amazon rather than send the whole thing back. Everything is great now. Very nice looking pot to use on gas grill when we have power outages during hurricane season. Love the stainless steel. High quality.

I looked at several stovetop percolators during my search before I decided on this one. The price was not unreasonable and it looked to be sturdily made. Which is a good thing since I can be rather clumsy and half blind when I first wake up.My 17 year old daughter and I tried it out the same day it was delivered. While there might not be any measurements inside nor outside of it (it would be nice if it did), after reading the reviews which verified common sense I just fill it to the bottom welded line of the spout or just between there and the first hole from the bottom of the spout. We set the gas burner on medium and just waited for the music/perking to begin. We turned the heat down and after a few minutes of it perking we turned it off. We then let it sit for a minute to let the water drain back down to the bottom of the pot. While we used an espresso roast (that's all that we had), the flavor wasn't too strong. Now, this morning I used a coffee & chicory coffee and the taste was phenomenal. Yes, the temperature is rather hotter than a drip coffee maker or a Keurig, but that's just fine with me since it means that even after I use my homemade cinnamon coffee creamer it was just hot enough to drink without burning my mouth. All in all the Coleman stovetop percolator was easy to assemble and easy to use. I personally love the design of the percolator. Just remember when using something with a metal handle on the stovetop make sure to use a pot holder. Oh! If you're worried about coffee grounds just use a coffee filter. Since all I have are ones made for a drip coffee maker I just folded it in half and then kept folding it until it was a triangle and just snipped the end to make a hole for the stem. Easy peasy! I'm thinking of trying to make my own out of unbleached cotton muslin. We shall see! Have a great 😃 day! It's time for a second cup of coffee ☕!

PENSE QUE COMO HABINA COMENTADO OTRAS PERSONAS ERA MUY PESADA, PERO NO ES ASI, E INCLUSO CONTAMOS CON UNA BATERIA DE COCINA QUE SI ES ACERO MUY GRUESO, EL ACERO DE LA PERCOLADORA ES DELGADO, LO SORPRENDENTE ES QUE LOGRAMOS HACER UN MUY BUEN CAFE EN ESTA PERCOLADORA, EN ESTUFA DE INDUCCIÓN, CON MUY BUENA CAPACIDAD PARA TODO LA FAMILIA, ALTAMENTE RECOMENDABLE.

I bought this coffee percolator in case of emergencies. Having no coffee is not a good thing if electric power goes out, and we have to go cowboy style. It’s such a nice sturdy pot, that I am using it quite a bit for our morning coffee, because it makes good coffee! Additionally it looks great on the stove. No it’s not a quick cup, but I like the percolator taste. It took a few try’s to get the measurements, proper grind, and timing, for my tastes. But works great for a good cup of Joe. I like the large size as there is enough to take a go cup on the way out the door, or boil up some water for other purposes when needed. It’ easy to clean, love the stainless instead of aluminum or enameled. It’s made well and I see no signs of discoloration so far. Yes, I would recommend this coffee pot.

I gave this as a gift. It’s a nice big size and is of high quality. They use it on their camp stove. The coffee didn’t take very long to perk at all. And the stainless steel keeps it warm for a long time, but it was really easy to reheat (take the basket out after perking). No need for coffee filters , they ground their coffee to medium grind. On a regular house stove, the handle doesn’t heat up, but on the campsite stove the handle did get hot . But I expected that . All in all, a perfect coffee pot that looks and feels expensive.

Do not use this percolator with less than half full of water. The percolation (?) needs a lot of water to consistently hit the glass knob and be dispersed over the filter/coffee basket. I tried with 4 cups of water, the water would boil, but the bubbling would never reach the glass knob. You hear the water boil, and knock against the basket footing, but the water doesn't get high up enough in the stem for it to dribble into the coffee basket.Eyeball it (after you filled it a couple of times, and pour out the water in a measuring bowl), put in the coffee, bring to a boil, and watch the color change of the water (now slowly becoming coffee ;-) ) 6 Cups of water seemed to have a good amount of percolation, and after 20 mins (about 10 mins to get the water to boil, then 10 more minutes of percolation) about 5 cups of coffee was left in the pot.So, keep in mind the evaporation. Add one extra cup of water to allow for the number of cups you want. I used a paper towel lightly bunched up in the spout to minimize steam loss. A rag will do as well, since cowboy camps may not have easy access to paper towels ;-)Compared to the Bialetti aluminum stovetop espresso makers, keep the water boiling for longer. It takes a longer time to get the same strength of coffee as you'd expect from a drip coffee maker. Also, do not expect the same flavor of coffee as the Bialettis, because the grind of coffee is different (much more fine) and there's no pressure aspect to coffee making (the Bialetti is an espresso machine). The Bialetti uses the steam pressure to press the water through the coffee, using the percolation is just another variation of drip coffee.Secure the glass topper, by inserting it and turning it tightly. If broken, I saw Cabela's sells plastic and glass toppers for their Granite Ware or similar pots- looked like these were the same dimensions as this Coleman one.The lid has a little lip/notch - make sure that is aligned with the handle of the pot, so that the lid doesnt slide off when pouring. All in all it takes some experimentation - how long to boil for, how much coffee to use, how much water to use. If the percolator basket should break, this is sturdy enough a pot for cowboy coffee!Final update: this is now the 5th pot of coffee brewed today, to experiment. 6 cups (48 fl oz) of water, heat up to right before boiling, add 6 heaping tbsp of coarsely ground coffee. Bring to boil, and keep on rolling boil for 10 mins. Take off the fire, add half a cup of cold water through the spout, and serve. That last bit of cold water settles the grounds to the bottom of the pot, and now you have at least 5 cups of piping hot coffee. No issues pouring the coffee, no spilling at all, on any of these pots i made today. If you place the lid with the small lip towards the handle, the lid will not pop off. You can even pour with the percolator still inside, the grounds did not spill in any of my test runs. The pot is easy to clear, a quick rinse. The percolator basket cleaning does use more water than i'd like, but if making coffee cowboy-style, that's not going to be an issue.Bumping it up to 5 stars, this is now approved and ready for camping!
