Purchase this for my total knee replacement. It keeps things cool for a good amount of time. The quality has been excellent. It’s very easy to use an easy to set up. It’s a little on the big side, but that means it holds more ice and lasts longer. I love it, it’s been a huge piece of my recovery from surgery.improved

I have used this for a week on my knee. The cooling ice water thru the wrap is very good. The only set back I can say and it could be a big one is as most people said there is a small leak in the clear plastic bag liner. I have found a plastic bucket that fits inside the bag and use it that way. I would send it back if I couldn’t use it this way.

I had my second knee replacement and purchased this prior. I wish I had bought it before the first one because it made icing my knee much easier and more comfortable. I used frozen water bottles (which I replaced daily and reused them over and over) instead of ice. I also added a small amount of bleach to the reusable water to prevent mold. This was not an expensive unit but worked great.

I thought I left a new review for this product and lowered the star ratings, but it looks like it didn't go through. So UPDATE: I canceled the return of this product, because problem was it was leaking all over the carpet. Big time. After checking the pump, the lines, the padding we found no problem as far as functionability. The problem lied with the bag itself. Cheap bag sprung a leak. With such a good product it's a shame they couldn't use something better to put the ice water in. So I canceled the return and just put the bag inside a cooler we already have that's lined with plastic... Problem solved! END OF UPDATE: This thing is the best to have after knee replacement surgery! Away with the hard, heavy ice packs. The wrap is thin and goes around the knee easily and is secured with three Velcro straps. Three levels of flow easily adjusted to your needs/levels of pain. So quiet I don't even hear it running. Automatic shut off after 30 minutes is great in case you fall asleep. Highly recommended

Great unit for the price. I switched to this from the machine provided by insurance.After switching to a small homedepot bucket it works great.Just some notes on it.Get yourself one of those small home depot buckets to put the pump and ice water in. The provided 'container' is a soft skinned thing that gets wobbly.Definitely a great value for money. Easy to use. The timer is a great thing so you don't lose track of time and over ice.

While this is a decent machine there is no way to contact the company to purchase additional wraps or replacement parts. No customer service after the sale.

My mom had knee replacement surgery and we were told “ice is your best friend” post-op. We had been using bags of ice on her knee and were having issues with the ice bag leaking, trying to keep up with making enough ice, and it still wasn’t as cold as it needed to be to help with the swelling and pain. I purchased this for about half the cost of other cold therapy systems and it was comparable to them in both quality and features. I looked at the customer ratings and it was very highly rated. I purchased it and it shipped quickly. We received it today, it took 5 min to put together and we started on the low setting. It was very quiet and my mom said it feels “amazing!” I wish we would have purchased it sooner! It’s such a fantastic value and so affordable.

I had my ruptured plantar plate and toes repaired with screws and plate - the swelling in my foot was painful before the sutures came out, and nothing was helping. An athlete friend said she uses this chill machine, and I got this one. The collapsible cooler will store well and the box is smaller than the total of the parts that come from it. It set up easily within minutes. I filled it with chilled water, popped a couple of frozen water bottles inside, and started to figure out how to wrap my foot. The pump does have a low hum, but it's not an invasive sound. The instructions are insufficient to understand what wraps are included and how to apply them. This unit comes with a "universal wrap", but apparently, the feet aren't usually in a universal shape. Wrapping was awkward and clumsy, but once I figured out how to make an enchilada-style wrap, my foot slid inside, and Heaven began. The chill that came through was marvelous, and, now, I sit with my foot inside this slipper for hours a day. It's made a remarkable difference in the swelling. The timer shuts the chill flow off every 30 minutes, but I'm quick to click it back on. The slight compression as the wrapper expands feels like a well-deserved hug, and my foot smiles and says thank you. I recommend this simple unit for anyone with post-op places that swell or develop sensitive nerves and that need drug-free remedies. I wish I'd had this system for past surgeries. The chilled flow is comforting and effective and has made a huge difference in the speed of my recovery.
