How does it work?
Cold Factor cooling towels work by using hyper evaporative cooling technology to create its cooling effect. The towel acts like a sponge and absorbs 10X its weight in water when fully saturated. The addition of water to the towel as well as airflow is what activates the technology. After saturating in water (water of any temperature will work) we suggest giving the towel a few shakes to increase air exposure to kick start the cooling.
How long does the cooling last?
Once activated, the towel will stay cool for up to 5 hours. Total cooling duration will depend on a variety of variables, with the most important factor being the amount of water in the towel. In a very dry climate, the towel will dry out faster then when in a humid environment. As the towel starts to dry out and becomes stiff, simply rewet to quickly reactivate.
Why does the Cold Factor cooling towel last longer than other brands selling PVA towels?
At Cold Factor, we set out to improve the PVA cooling towel technology by working with technical cooling experts. Some brands like to add a busy pattern onto one side of the towel because it hides imperfections in the product and allows them to use less of the cooling PVA material. When you add a pattern to the towel, it compresses the amount of cooling material that is available to absorb water and in turn, reduces the cooling duration. The amount of water held in an evaporative product has a direct correlation to how long it stays cool. At Cold Factor, we believe in offering the highest quality product and strategically minimized the amount of pattern on the towel to provide our customers the very best experience.
Why choose a PVA towel over a microfiber options?
Good question! There are different types of cooling technologies available depending on a customers personal preference. PVA material is an advanced option that acts as a sponge and absorbs more water than microfiber, making a longer lasting option. PVA also offers a more regulated evaporative effect than microfiber. Testing shows it cools more efficiently. PVA is also thicker and provides effective UPF protection better than microfiber, by blocking the suns harmful UV rays.
Is this the kind with polymer crystals inside? When you get it wet, it absorbs and enlarges?
No, there are no polymer crystals inside a Cold Factor cooling towel. This means no slimy residue or mess. The towel is made of 100% PVA material that acts as an absorbent sponge to provide cooling relief.
Can these be cut with no problems?
Yes, Cold Factor cooling towels can be cut to a desired shape. There is a mesh lining on the inside of the towel that stabilizes the PVA material. Upon cutting the towel, you may notice a few frays from the mesh, but the towel will active and perform as intended.
What are the care instructions?
The towel is conveniently machine washable on gentle cycle or can be hand washed with gentle detergent. Please note that for best results and continued use the towel should be air dried and not placed in a machine dryer.
How long will the towel last?

Bought this for working outside in August. It helps keep you cool on a hot day. The only problem is you have to wet it frequently. It is comfortable around your neck or draped over your head.

We got this for hot days working outside on a construction project. It was super hot and humid and we were at the point of heat exhaustion. This is such a cool material , literally. . It keeps the cold locked in, I would use it around my neck and I get it lasted for a good amount of time. When it dries completely it stiffens out like the type of material used for drying cars. I would definitely recommend this if you work in the hot weather and need something to cool you down. High quality.

This thing is just like my car chamois, looks and feels the same. Has absolutely no cooling properties as advertised. This had very good reviews which I fell for. I used to have a cooling towel years ago that actually had cooling technology. This one how ever, once wet it is no more than a wet towel. Not worth the price no matter how inexpensive it is.

I work from home in a smaller room with two big desktop computers on the entire work day. I got this cause I prefer cooling towels and fans to keep me cool over AC. When it gets over 100 outside then the AC comes on, but that is not frequent where I live now. This cooling towel if the bomb! It holds a lot of water securely, and does not drip all over me and my chair. This keeps me cool for over 5 hours with a single charge of water. All the other towels I use get dry in about an hour or so. This means I do not have to worry about the cooling wearing off quickly. I have a fan blowing on me all day and that would normally dry any towel quickly. This one holds a lot of water without leaks or spills. I got 3 more for friends who live in hot Phoenix. They love theirs too!

On a windy 110 degree day in the Arizona desert, this cooling towel stayed cool and wet. I walked for 45 minutes. I started with it soaking wet. I did not wring it out. Yes, it has been mentioned that it's hard when dry. Well, you're not using it dry! Soak it. It'll be a weird feeling material. Embrace the smoosh.The towel is long enough to drape over my shoulders. Also, I can fold it small enough to tuck in the top of my shirt and lay it on my chest.45 minutes later, it was still cool to the touch and wet. After that walk, I was sold. I'm ready to buy one in every color. As the temperature heats up, you're going to need this towel.

This is a really good product and work screen. The only thing that you need to be careful of is it does bleed heavily? I mean, very heavily the first time you wash it. So I suggest that you use send detergent in your sync. Do not put it in with your other laundry. When I washed this in my sink. I had a hole in tire sink full of bright blue water. That I probably could've used to die a T-shirt. But after you wash it that first time. It's awesome, and it definitely works. My husband works in a very, very hot building. Installing fire alarm panels. Literally no air conditioner, no windows. This cool towel is the only thing that helps him to survive. Highly recommended!
