This product is not very suitable for use in Canada. First, it cannot detect speed cameras in advance (even highway mode); it only alerts me with a “1” when I pass the camera; Second, it has failed to detect police cars on multiple occasions, and there are also instances of false alarms. Overall, it’s not very useful, and I’ve already put it away. However, I believe it works well in the U.S., though I’m still not sure why.

Have had 2 of these radar detectors for going on 4 years next month and have worked superbly, especially for the price! Detects from all directions but longer distances on straight roads. Only thing is the suction cups are a pain and after a while need to be replaced which is understandable. Temperatures here in El Paso can reach up to 110 degrees! Just found it detects lasers too! lol!!

Detection on this thing is very poor. A lot of times it wont go off until you are right on top of the cop. I had a previous cobra model for about 10 years. The thing was an absolute beast. It would pick cars up a mile sometimes more out. This model seems like low quality junk. They send a QR code so that you can get a free year of their app. The thing is you have to connect the detector to bluetooth. They don't tell you this model has zero bluetooth. I also got charged 50 bucks to my apple pay for the app and all I did was scan the QR code for the free year. I contacted customer service and it was terrible. I will NEVER buy anything from these people again. This junk is not worth 20 bucks

i thought that the fuzzy's wuzzy's had got me recently they were hiding around a bend but luckily I was only 3 or 4 mph over. From that day I was determined to get something to protect myself and it certainly does working in the background while you get on with your day, a great purchase and one I shall remember for a long time.Get one to protect yourself before they ban them.
Very good for the price.

I don't like the windshield mount as the angle is wrong, the suction cups don't hold up. A better mount for it would help.i used the velcro for the dash .but some people may not want to use it on an expensive car,say BMW or jaguar etc. I do want to say that compared to it's competition it works flawlessly, it paid for itself the first time by alerting me to an instant on radar being used by patrol on a motorcycle .he was hiding behind a bridge post and I only saw him as I passed ,so the detector worked very well.

Works great BUT when it goes off it’s so quiet, if you listen to music like I do you can hardly hear it going off. Needs higher volume settings.

Fantastic radar detector for the price. Has saved me 7 times so far. A lot of other people think it's too quiet, but I never have a hard time hearing it – even with the windows down and music up. If you're hard of hearing or want voice alerts, pick a different unit. Each type of signal (X, K, Ka band, and laser) has its own tone – if you can't hear the difference, the display will show you what it's detecting and the strength of the signal from 1 to 5. The stronger the signal, the faster it will beep.Even in "highway" mode, I have run into very few false alerts: usually just a few seconds of a low-level K-band warning from a door opener or something.Strongly recommend hard-wiring it using a fuse and a switch, super annoying to have to mess with a cigarette lighter. Cut the plug off the power cable, the red wire in there is power and the white wire is ground. That said, remember a radar detector is not infallible: although this unit does have the capability to detect lasers, it is highly unlikely it ever will (cops aim at your license plate or headlights), and if it does, it's just telling you to pull over because you're busted. Cops can also just eyeball your speed, time you between two points, or use their own speedometer while following you. No radar detector will help you against that.If you get any X-band or Ka-band alerts, slow down: it's a cop more or less all the time. Your only false alarms will be K-band, and they will be a few seconds of a level 1 alert. Any higher intensity or longer-lasting alerts, it's a cop.Suction cup mount extremely solid, it lives in my truck and sees some really rough roads and shows no signs of going anywhere. Did not try the other mount.

I've been using a radar detect for 4 years now and they have saved my butt more times than I can count. We all occasionally speed, I don't care what you say it happens often on accident.Speed in itself isn't inherently dangerous, roads such as the autobahn or the middle of nowhere usa where speed limits can reach 85mph prove this. So long as traffic and road conditions are adequate speed is not a problem. Mind you this logic won't get you out of a ticket if you drive like a maniac.I updated from an older cobra radar detector and I can't believe how much quieter this thing is. My old detector was constantly being set off by every prius and Tesla that drove by. It got to the point that I was just ignoring it, until another driver saved me from a ticket by being extra stupid. I was driving to work at 10pm on a Sunday night, roads nearly empty and dry. I was cruising at around 75mph when the radar detector goes off but I just ignored it assuming it was another prius. As I round the corner my heart drops and I downshift to slow down when I see a cop sitting right there watching. He start to pull out as sure enough someone in a mustang flies past us at over 90mph the cop waved as he drove by and I decided it was time for a new radar detector. After a few hours of looking I realized that escorted bought cobra. This made me happy since escorted is a higher end brand and potentially meant better detectors. I was not disappointed when this radar detector arrived. The first few days I thought this detector was broken, it was so quiet I was sure I had gotten a dud. Saturday night came around and I quickly realized this thing wasn't broken it just worked that well. Around every corner that night was a cop and I was only alerted to the cop. I have actually started to trust my radar detector again.Range is excellentFiltering false alarms is unbelievable.Volume is goodLack of voice alert sort of sucks. All in all this thing is a must have, I honestly believe that more information while driving is a good thing.
