Came in one heavy box. Put together in one afternoon. Sturdy, looks great, and smells great (inside is cedar lining).

Easy to assemble... took about 20 minutes to completely assemble. Very sturdy. The top opens with ease, sturdy hinge holds the chest open and only requires a single one hand to push close. Beautiful piece of furniture, slightly warmer finished than the stock photo appears. I absolutely love it! Money well spent for excellent quality piece.

I have been looking for some time for a reasonably priced cedar chest and was thrilled to take a chance when I saw this one. We bought it to hold extra blankets in our bedroom. It is good looking, of good size and quality and has a cedar lining. Assembly was very straightforward. I am very happy with this chest and would definitely recommend it!

Vendor was quick and product arrived undamaged and pristine. Unlike some of the other reviews for it I found the lock to work exactly as it should and had no problems putting into the locked postion. It locked and the lid stayed locked... when I unlocked it it unlocked. Not sure if others didn't read the sticker on the mechanism that said if you wanted it to lock you have to hold the button in as you closed it...and if you wanted the lid to open without the latch then just close without holding the button. To lock it just turn the key all the way around and remove the key. It is very pretty and sturdy so far so good.

I was very pleased with the chest, but the locking mechanism does not work properly. I have contacted the seller in hopes of getting a new one (locking mechanism). I would like to purchase 2 more chests as Christmas gifts, but this depends on the response from the manufacturer/seller as to the replacement of the defective locking mechanism. Otherwise, the chest was received a week earlier than expected, there were no dings or other shipping damage. The chest is beautiful and I am pleased to give it as a gift.It was easy to put together and all the necessary hardware was in place.I would give 5 stars if not for the lock...

The kit was easy to assemble in about 2 hours and looked great. But it's a veneer of Cedar over particle board. After two months of use (opening once per 2 weeks) the particle board shredded apart at the hinge from the simple act of opening the lid. If you want it to last - Don't use it! Lasted just long enough that I couldn't get a refund.Someone asked if the back was finished to use as a coffee table. The back has the woodgrain veneer but it's flat. It doesn't have the attractive molding to match the front & sides, so it wouldn't be very attractive as a coffee table in the center of the room. And to the person who asked what you expect for the low price? How about a product that performs it's intended use? Maybe if people didn't support or accept that products don't even work as advertised (i.e., a chest you can open and shut without breaking from the strain of opening the lid), manufacturers would know they couldn't successfully peddle this excrement.

Easy to assemble, even working entirely by myself. No missing parts or extra parts. I bought this one from Amazon, then a second identical one from another vendor. Both are good, though the second one had a few too many of the smallest screws and lacked some of the longer ones. No problem, a couple of small utility screws from my toolbox fixed things.I don't trust the locks provided at all. I mounted them, saw that they did barely work, but then unmounted the locks so they couldn't accidentally get permanently locked. I don't need the locks at all.The oak (?) veneer outside is very nice looking. The inside is lined with cedar (?) veneer. The bulk of the material is particle board but it seems tight and strong and very well fitted. I sit on the top of it sometimes (175 lb) but I definitely ease onto it. Would not recommend letting kids jump on it at all.If you fold them carefully, the chest will hold three side-by-side stacks of woolen sweaters and/or cotton tee shirts. The only ways it could be better would be: (a) solid wood, but then it would cost $600+, (b) better locks, but who cares, (c) a few inches bigger.
