The Jonsteen Company is a California tree company and nursery specializing in Giant sequoia and Coast redwood trees. Born in America's National Parks (c. 1992), we're on a mission to share the knowledge, joy & experience of trees with everyone.

All of our trees are seed-grown at our nursery on California's Redwood Coast, which is inspected and licensed by the California Dept. of Agriculture.

Gave it to my friend. It’s grown almost 2 feet and survived the occasional below freezing cold and snowy winter. It’s not even been a year since I got it. Thriving in Idaho. Just water once a week in the non winter season

This small seedling tree was much bigger than I expected it to be and arrived in excellent condition. I potted it right away and put it in my greenhouse because I live in the north and it’s cold right now, but I can’t wait to see how it grows and develops! Excellent specimen!

This was a great tree! I bought July of 2022 now September 2024 the tree is taller then me and the trunk is bigger then a half dollar! I can’t wait to see this tree grow with me throughout my life.

I ordered two of the small saplings. The first pictures are as they arrived, just after planting.Ordered them late winter (NW Ohio) around February/March. Grew them inside under a cheap LED grow light for a couple months. Introduced them to the backyard, about 4-6 hours direct sun light. After a month or so, to the front yard which is full sun all day. Took these pictures today (27Aug) about 5-6 months of growth. They are still in the same pots, way too small at this point but will transplant when I bring them in for the winter!Beautiful trees. Also, how unique they each are to the other! Fun watching them grow.

Trees took a while to get here. Planted immediately in 10 gallon pots and they seem to be doing okay. Price seemed a little high for what you get, and they were a tad dry when they got here. Probably 8 or 9 inches tall. Turned a little brown but most trees do until they get settled in their new habitat. We’ll see how the next several months go and potentially buy more.

Might not be as majestic as seeing a giant sequoia tree in person but having one in your home living in Wisconsin is pretty awesome. Only problem I wish I purchased the bigger one :)

They arrived 6 days early! I almost didn't have enough soil to pot them!Plants seems alive, bottom half is brown, but they do say that is the case due to shipping and what not.I ordered small, but suspect I got medium, as the root mass matched the pproximately 11 CMs for small, but the top half of the trees where 10 Inches! Did not anticipate this size! As the size in the description said like 5 inches!Packaging was great, protected the plant. However I was hoping for more descriptive care instructions! Otherwise, no complaints at this time!
