These cost more, but after trying it I much prefer the hook end and a plain metal shuttle. It comes with extra bobbins, which is useful.

I learned to tat using Clover post style shuttles, which work good but are a real pain to wind and unwind. Then I discovered that Clover started making a bobbin shuttle and now this is my favorite. Easy to wind and unwind, very quiet ( not the constant “click, click” of a post shuttle), and fits in my hand well. The only problem I’ve had is that after a lot of use, a few of them started slipping a bit, which makes it harder to make nice tight stitches.

Schiffchen "fällt" gut durch die Hand - Tatter wissen was ich meine ;). Spule und Halter/Stopper sehr praktisch zum Aufwickeln bzw. zum Arbeiten mit mehreren Spulen. Die eingesetzte Spule wickelt sich anfangs etwas schwergängig ab, was sich aber schnell einschleift. Wer gerne mit stärkeren Garnen arbeitet, für den ist die Spule vielleicht zu klein, und ich würde eher zu den Schiffchen zum Direkt-Aufwickeln raten. Für Garnstärken ab 20 und dünner, finde ich dieses Wechselspulen-System super. P.S. Achtung, kommt aus USA und braucht ca. 4 Wochen.
