The problem is these are shorter and much tighter than the originals from 30 years ago. So while you can get them to work, it takes pliers to get them on and if your original install used an over/under approach, these are too short to replace the original clips in the original holes. So that’s a bit of a drag….

These fasteners perfectly replaced the original fasteners which broke after 26 years in our house. Thanks a million. Worked perfectly.

I've got a shelf that wraps around the walls of a walk in closet. Somehow the bracket are one end broke (the bottom of the cradle just fell out) and the sagging shelf pulled the first four or 5 wall clips out and sheared off their clippy bits.Tried to replace the bracket but everything out there is too short, so duct tape stepped in to save the day. Couldn't reuse the wall clips so bought these to shore up spots immediately next to the existing, broken clips.I will say that, without having the shelf off the wall, these are a pain and a half to clip on. But they do eventually snap into place, and the hardware all worked. Shelf is sturdy now...at least until the tape fails.

At my former home I designed solid wood shelving and my contractor made it, spoiling me. Then I sold that house and bought my perfect dream home that I absolutely love. But it's 25-year old and full of the wire Closetmaid shelving that I do not like because small things fall through it and it leaves wire marks on anything that sits on it. I solved that by getting custom-made acrylic sheets to sit on top of shelves, but each time you move a shelf, the brackets holding it up snap. These replacement clips are easy to use and much more functional than the original clips. Using them is easy and more efficient than replacing all of the shelving with custom shelves.

I say 'easily' because it will fit if you smash it in with force. I bought these because one of my wire shelf clips snapped off at the hook part after putting too much weight on one side. The wire shelving is over 20 years old, so I figure if one went, others would surely follow, and I wanted to have these on hand. I couldn't find any other type of screw that was similar, and I didn't want a nail in unit, because I just wanted to use the same hole the old one came out of.These are just a tiny bit longer than the old ones. Putting the screw into the same hole the broken one came out of, the shelf is just a hair lower than before. It's probably a mm or 2, so not a deal breaker, but still, why can't they make the same sizes? The problem came in when trying to put the wire shelf into the hook... nope, wasn't going. It's hard to measure, but by eyeball, it looks like it should fit... but the hook shape isn't a U, it wraps a bit more around. Pushing down HARD on the shelf itself (meaning have the L brackets in already), managed to get it into the hook. This was NOT easy, and it didn't seem like it would fit at all. It's possible that I stretched the hook getting it in also, but it held, and it didn't break. The good part is, the difficulty seating it in the hole keeps the shelf from easily lifting back up. Hopefully, this will last 20 more years.

These worked great for my "desk mounted power bar holder". I used two of the wall clips screwed onto the back panel of my desk. They are holding up a small basket that contains a power bar, and extra cords and cables from my desk top computer. The estimated weight is about 7lbs total. Even though the basket isn't holding much weight, I am confident that these clips will hold up well with more weight.

We had an older shelving unit in our pantry and the clips had broken. The kind folks at the local hardware big box did not have replacements they thought would work and recommended we replace the entire shelving system. It would have been a waste of money and turn a 5 minute job into a complicated pain in the buttski.Came home went to Amazon and saw these pictures for ~dozen clips for a few bucks. They are not exactly the same but worked just fine. The screws went in easily and the clips hold the shelves securely.
