Several things wrong with this. I didn't understand what I was buying. It's a flimsy rod that is in 6 pieces that fit together. One end is 1in in diameter, the other end is significantly smaller. The reason the rod fell is not truly a fault of the rod, it's because whoever installed the brackets before I bought the house did not check to ensure that they were screwed into studs. None-the-less this product is terrible and I don't recommend buying it. At all. EVER. You're better off hanging your clothes on a tree branch.

The Closet Rod for Hanging Clothes was a decent option, but I found it to be a bit lightweight and the included anchors seemed flimsy. While it worked for lighter garments, I wouldn't trust it to hold up heavier items. If you're looking for a more robust solution, you might want to consider a heavier-duty option.

It was the perfect length but definitely not strong enough if you are using almost the max length. It becomes much more flimsy and we had to add 3 additional supports to feel confident we could hang clothes on it.

Does the job but definitely not as heavy duty as advertised. Just my husbands work uniforms alone cause it to sag. Make sure ur have a strong support beam in the middle to hold it up.

I put this inside my armoire for extra space. I didn’t need to use the expanding piece. Took about 20 mins to install which included drilling pilot holes.Overall seems durable, although there is a slight wiggle to it, so I don’t think I would use it for my main closet. The bar is hollow and meets the other one in the middle, and I expect if you hung heavy clothes on it it may bow.

The tubing is rather thin aluminum (I think) resulting in an unstable tube for any length longer than about 40". I installed two of these; one 40" and the other 66". The design and installation is kinda cool and easy, but the material leaves something to be desired. The simple remedy is purchasing a center rod support for the longer rod. Shoulda considered this when I made the purchase.
