It works made out of cheaper but durable metal, although the black piece eventually falls off, but you can put it back on.

My clock repairman didn't have this size clock key, in his box. I had lost mine in a move and needed one.

Both of them broke during the course of winding the clock the second time. One completely sheard apart and the other lost all of its strength and bowed out, seperating from the handle. The handles are really weak and bend like pot metal. I have a 31 day action Grandfather clock so like I said, on the second use the were both unusable and outside of the return date window. So, I paid $7.95 to wind my clock once and thats not a sustainable situation. Cost Vs. Use then calculate wasted time researching, ordering and waiting to catch the shipment. These are not tools, Id consider them as a replica display piece if they were pretty and not broken. I didn't even wind the clock close to complete the first time. Stopped when I felt a reasonable amount of tension. Sure wish I ordered some that worked. From an engineer's point of view I ask: There are two pieces, but during manufacturing there were 3 so I ask why did they stamp press fuse the tool shaft together when that needed to be the strongest part handling the tension? Then not using tight enough tolerances, furthermore add in the soft black coat layer which rubs right off furthering the gap as the two slip apart with nothing now holding it together! Its so simple yet it got done exactly the way I would not do it. QC process anyone? They jiggle out of the box, I call that (Out of Box Failure) untested prototype. I cant believe they are still on Amazon selling these trinkets and trash. Something like would come in an egg out of a gum ball machine or you turn in tickets for at Chucky Cheese! Sorry, not sorry I speak the truth. I never leave reviews but this product needs to not exist in its current form please. Start from scratch and test it, QC then box bag and ship. I want a refund and not another set of this mess, please????

Worked fine for our old Schatz anniversary clock. Although some others had issues with it breaking, we've wound up our clock twice without any issues.

This is a very old windup antique clock. The key was lost years ago. After careful measurements, I ordered this key and it fit perfectly!

I bought an old Howard Miller wall clock with a West German Hermle chiming movement in it, but no key to wind it. Howard Miller Co could not tell me for sure what size key to get. After some research, I took a chance on this one, and it fits! My only gripe is that the price, IMO, is a bit too high for a key.

we have many winding style clocks and I misplaced two of the winding keys during our move. I ordered two of these but they fell apart after only a couple months. Don't buy. I will be ordering the $12-$15 keys. You get what you pay for.
