Not the most stylish chair, but comfy. I use this at my kitchen table where I spend most of my time. The antique Windsor chair that I used previously is lovely, but not comfortable for extended periods. This is innocuous enough to not stand out horribly among my other more "aesthetic" furniture. Good back support, easy to put together. Happy with it after 8 months of use.

Chair was very easy to assemble and is a nice looking basic office chair. It cannot be used at a table such as a conference room table as the height of the chair and how the back reclines back a little makes it way too short for someone to sit at. However, as an accent chair, it works great.

This chair is very sturdy and comfortable. It has problems only in the assembly instructions which are very vague and simple. You have to really play with the bolts to properly assemble it. My wife thinks it would be better if it had wheels, though moving it around helps her get some exercise, LOL.

I found this chair through several hours of searching for a living room chair with a seat height close to 20 inches. If I remember right, this one is 19.5 inches. I am over six feet tall, and after sitting for years in an Ikea chair with seat height that is 15.5 inches, the strain on my knees was becoming a problem. This chair was the best option other than a few very expensive wing-back chairs and full-cushion recliners, which I am not interested in. I hesitated at first because this is a waiting-room chair, but that turned out to be fine. It has a nice black leather with matching black metal frame. So far, it has been great for my knees. Out of habit I still find myself bracing for the knee strain I'm used to feeling as I sit down. But then, suddenly: I am sitting in the chair--no strain. Four inches in seat height makes a big difference. My feet are flat on the floor, my knees are at a 90 angle. When I need to stand up, the arms are a good added support, but really it's easy to stand because my rear end is not lower than my knees. The arms rests are not adjustable, but I was happy to find that they are low. As a tall person I also have longer arms. If an arm rest is even an inch too high I end up sitting with my shoulders slightly raised, which creates a neck strain after a while. This chair has some decent cushioning in the seat and back, but it's on the firm side, which I like. I need support. Sinking into deep cushions is not useful. It is also plenty wide, which should accommodate a person who is wide as well as tall. The back has good height that lines up with my shoulders well. It's not as high as my head, but that's fine. This is not a chair for leaning back.I decided to go with the sled design, which I am happy with. It is stable, and it seemed like it would be more gentle on my rug.I would have given five stars, but as other reviewers have commented, assembly is a challenge. Getting the last two screws into the back took real effort, and was frustrating. You do need to plan to have two people. The screw holes on the back are drilled straight through the leather, close to the seam. The fabric moves around and you can barely see the threads. We had to get some scissors out to make the holes a little bigger and clear out some of the fabric lining that was in the way. One person has to squeeze and hold everything just right so the other person can get the bolts in. Lots of trial and error. Seems like this could be easily solved by metal plates installed at the factory.

Unlike so many other reviewers, I managed to assemble this chair without TOO much difficulty because my previous experience with several chairs of this type and comments in these reviews have taught me that you shouldn't completely tighten any of the 8 screws until all have been fitted... leaving screws 'loose' allows you to manipulate/adjust the chair pieces, helping to eventually get all screws placed. The chair definitely should have been better designed for easier assembly. In fact, my current chair of the last 3 or so years has functioned with one screw missing because I simply could not screw it in because the frame did not line up with that screw hole. In the past decade I have purchased this general style of chair several times (Big & Tall guest chairs with a sled base) and have had significant difficulty in assembling them. With this CLATINA chair, the glaring problem is that it is a POOR ergonomic design and is therefor completely unusable to me. The seatback is in an excessively reclined position so that when you sit in the chair, the seatback DOES NOT TOUCH YOUR BACK unless you lie back. That is not how a person wants to sit at a computer desk or pretty much any other scenario. As if the lack of back support weren't bad enough, the seat cushion is shallow/short in length from front to back so only shorter/smaller adults and children would have adequate leg support behind their knees. These chairs are SUPPOSED to be for big & tall folk!! I am 6 feet tall and simply cannot use this chair because of the absence of both back and leg support.Furthermore, like many other reviews have mentioned, my chair arrived damaged even though the shipping box itself was not damaged. The underside of the undersized seat cushion has 3 sizable gashes in it revealing the inner materials.Rather than going through the bother of disassembly, repackaging and hauling it to a location to be shipped back and the possible great expense of returning the chair, I guess this chair is just going to serve as a piece of furniture for my cats to sit on whenever they feel like it. However, this leads me to another glaring problem I have experienced with this type of chair. They are made of "bonded" (i.e. poor quality) leather which is essentially a thin "film" on top of fabric. All of the several chairs of this type I have owned have always been susceptible to pet claws. I'm not talking about poorly behaved cats that destroy furniture by using it like a scratching post. Normal incidental contact with pet claws (scrapes) eventually begins to damage the very thin leather film. Once started, over the months this will snowball into the film peeling off bit by bit, leaving flakes of material on your clothing and on the ground until the chair becomes largely bare and looking like the cheap quality piece of garbage it is.In buying this chair I was aware of the possibility of difficult assembly and the fact that the thin leather skin would very soon start to degrade and peel off, leaving me with a progressively uglier chair and necessitating another chair purchase a few years down the road. I was okay with these facts because the previous Big & Tall sled base chairs I have owned have served their purpose as CHAIRS with comfort and support. I had no idea this oddly proportioned, poorly designed CLATINA product would outright fail as a chair with non-existent back support due to an inexplicably reclined seatback and undersized seat cushion that is not long enough from front to back to support a normal-sized human's legs.I'm dumbfounded that this CLATINA product has overall positive ratings. I can only conclude that there are many fake reviews and that many customers rate it as soon as they've assembled it because it looks deceptively nice and not after spending some time trying to actually sit in it.
