The bright colors are a great addition to the hobby work area. I think the box and the drawers while being card board are plenty sturdy. I didn't think they were flimsy at all (I'm not storing lead!). I bought some label holders and stuck them onto the front of each drawer. Beats spending tons more just to store hobby stuff. I now have a great way to store materials, special tools, patterns, etc. for making lumber loads, steel I beams etc. for gondolas, flats and coal loads for hoppers. Love these! I bought two more!

It does the job because I’m only using it to put a few papers in each slot. Not very sturdy. I probably would not have paid $30 if I saw it first in person.

I need to be more careful to shop smarter. I'm just starting out with Amazon. The site in general operates well, but I don't get enough information to make a properly informed decision...and that was on all items I came across. I couldn't find the materials that this was made out of, so I took a chance anyway. I got paper. If it isn't abused or over weighted, it should last. Thinking of shoring it up by wrapping with Mac Tac. Wish it was made of wood. I would have paid more. The bottom line is that the descriptions of products are varied and lean. Dimensions are hidden and materials not stated sometimes. Form filled descriptions on all that allow us to graze and click, rather hover over the button and wonder, I accept this mistake as mine. But my next trip to Amazon will be to find better quality products overall, vs. the products I ordered here. Actually, I'm about to order a carpet cleaner, wish me luck!

I didn't think cardboard and simple folding without glue or tacks or fasteners would be as effective as it is. I don't expect it would hold bricks, but it holds paper just fine and it was easy to put together. I accomplished the folding construction on the first try without previous experience by following the well written instructions. If you want a simple small organizer for stacks of paper, this works great.

Okay, yes it is made from cardboard but it is a very thick, heavy and sturdy type of cardboard that isn't flimsy once it is set up. I ordered some drawers, also cardboard, that slide in easily and I am able to store so much inside that I am pleased with my purchase, even if it is cardboard. The set up only took about ten minutes and wasn't too difficult. I thought the same thing as other reviewers, that the cardboard wouldn't last but it has so far and I am happy with it.

I returned this product. Although I did not expect anything made of cardboard to be sturdy, this organizer is beyond flimsy. A few pieces of construction paper collapsed the shelves! The organizer arrives as flat pieces of cardboard which require assembly via inserting notches in the cardboard into precut slits. The notches don't line up well, which seems to be a big part of this product's shoddiness.

I purchased this cubby and the drawers from the same company and I honestly couldn't be happier! I like this storage solution better than the many plastic bins and drawers I've tried for finding a convenient storage system for my felt and tissue paper and other "flat" crafting supplies. The color is very accurate to the online picture and even though it's made of cardboard with a little care during assembly, you'll have a sturdy, nice looking cubby! When you take it out of the box, assembly might seem a bit daunting but the directions are very well written and easy to follow! I think I'll probably paint mine or cover it in fabric or pretty paper since it's going in my craft area and I already have a color scheme/theme going on in there but I look forward to doing this and giving it more personality than any plastic storage container could have! I'm using the drawers from the same company that fit this cubby, so you may have a bit more space if you forego the drawers but I can easily fit pre-cut felt and tissue paper in there and "regular" 8.5x11 paper too. I would highly recommend this little unit to anyone looking for a cost-effective organizer.

This organizer is made from cardboard but is much more stable (and cheaper) than a stack of plastic letter trays. I'm using it to store and organize a variety of toys on a shelf out of a child's reach. We've amassed quite the collection of toys and games in trays (Melissa and Doug toys often come in these) and boxes that fit perfectly in the slots of this organizer. I've been searching for a way to store these for a long time as piling them on top of each other on a shelf inevitably leads to a spill and you can't stand the trays on end. I finally thought about a paper tray but few were large enough. This organizer is oversized compared to a standard letter tray and the generous thickness of each slot makes it perfect for my purposes. I would have loved to find something similar in a sturdier material but even if it existed, it would be at least 4 times the price.

I love this shelf organizer. I especially like that it's cardboard. I don't like to bring MDF products into my house because of the smell and off-gassing. Cardboard is perfect because it's recyclable, the manufacturing process isn't horrible for the environment/workers, and I'm not stressed out about my daughter damaging it. If you need something really sturdy and you want it to last for years, then I'd go with something hardwood. But this seems pretty sturdy and like it will do the job very well. Much better than those cheap shelving units made of wood chips and glue that just end up in our landfills.I'm trying to encourage my 2 year old to be more independent. In each drawer, I've placed an activity. She can take the drawers out and bring them to her little table. She also adores putting the drawers in "rainbow order."It was a breeze to put together - took me about 10 minutes and it was fun. I highly recommend this!
