It only lasted 1 year outside. Probably better as an indoor use.

I wanted to like this product but I expected more because of the price. The assembling process is tedious and your wrists and hands will tire. At one point the Allen wrench was stripped due to cheap material and became almost an insurmountable task. Eventually, I assembled it and it appeared solid. When attempting to insert the auger into clay soil it became a difficult task. Upon doing so the paint from the post rubbed off onto my hands and clothing. At one point the area where screws (3) are inserted into the adjoining piece began falling out. Once the pedestal was placed in the ground the paint chipped away easily after exposed to the elements after a few days. This is not a great product and I do not recommend it!

Not good for rainy place. It's designed for warm and dry place. The paint chips off. It's really nice and Victorian I must say though.

Both the birdhouses and the post should be weatherproofed. Although the instructions mention this, I think they need to emphasize it more. The post and pricey birdhouse rotted on my mom. I purchased both items as a gift for her. This information should be right up front in LARGE type.
