The smell is not overpowering which is nice. It cleans grease well but as far as baked on grease, it does an OK job. Don't waste your money purchasing the bottle and scrubber if your grill is really in need of cleaning. You are better off with a metal scraper for grills to remove heavy grime. I like my grill shiny which I could not get with this product. I would use again if I am cleaning between each grilling but not for a really dirty grill.
