What are hub-centric rings for?
Most aftermarket wheels have a large center hub diameter so the wheels will fit a variety of different vehicles. The hub-centric rings are made to fill the gap between the wheel and the hub of the vehicle to ensure the wheel is perfectly centered. This not only makes the installation of your new wheels much easier but will also help eliminate any vibrations you may encounter.

You can get away with not using hub centering rings on most cars that use wheel studs. It’s recommended to still use them, but you can more effectively center a wheel without them through a more tedious tightening routine. I did it all the time on my Hondas. If you have a European car that uses wheel bolts - that technique is much less effective, resulting in what feels like an out of balance wheel due to the wheel shifting ever-so slightly off-center every time you hit a notable bump. This happened to my E90 BMW after I purchased TSW wheels that failed to come with hub-centering rings. These solved the issue immediately.
