I wish it lasted longer than 8 months but then I thought about it this mat has taken a heckuva pounding. My son is a high level 15 year old pitcher throwing upper 80s and low 90s on a crop hop. He has thrown a baseball more than 5000 times at the mat at at least 1000 of them full velocity. He has thrown 2lb med ball as part of his training at least 5000 times at full velocity. It has taken a beating and the grommets have all ripped out. The mat is fine with a couple of thin spots where the balls have started to wear it down. My only complaint would be to somehow reinforce the material around the grommets to help prevent ripping through.
