I returned my first one due to scratch on the chrome plate and they replaced it right away. My second one the lower bracket was machined and chrome one the opposite side so had to returned that one too. I when with a different style instead.

Definitely not set up for a 305,350 or anything that mounts to the intake like the factory set up. I have the long water pump and the top adjuster bracket is way to short. It is described totally incorrect.

This bracket has a beautiful chrome finish but it states that this is for the long water pump and it does not fit. The bolt holes do not line up whatsoever, I will have to bend the bracket in order to make it work which will destroy the chrome finish. Will be returning

1987 Chevy S10 350cu in. We weren’t impressed with this bracket. Should be photo 4 we added that photo to shows. We had to remove the end intake bolt out next to the water jacket in the intake to install the bracket with the supplied spacer. We weren’t happy about that just because we could have broken the gasket seal. We learned the second time around to install bottom bracket with nuts loss and then place alternator with the long bolt and backing spacer. Then tighten the bolts to the water pump. If you don’t do this first you won’t get the long bolt lined up with the back space. There won’t be enough room and you will have to loosen the 2 bolts on the water pump back off again. Kit doesn’t come with washers or lock washers, you will have to supply your own. After bottom is installed then go to top bracket remove the intake bolt first. 1st slightly install alternator bolt this will help set height, 2nd install bolt and short spacer to water pump leave it loss that would be photo 3, 3rd install medium spacer and bolt to intake manifold. Once everything is installed then tighten all the bolts top first then bottom bracket. Install belt and set the belt tension. Biggest concern was removal of the intake bolt, and now the pressure to hold the intake to the gasket is a bolt and medium spacer tube, specially beside a intake water jacket. It’s your call if you want this bracket. Reviewing photo 3, I might change the bolt to thread rod, place 2 nuts to tighten to the head. Remove the 2 nuts and install lock washer with a nut torque to spec. Grind/cut the spacer to fit, then add another lock washer and nut. That’s the only way I see to get even pressure on the intake near to water jacket.

I'm using this as part of an overall chrome and Billet upgrade to the front of a 305 in my 1978 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Super Sport.The quality of the chrome looks really great and I'm sure this set is going to be more than beefy enough to keep my new high output alternator under control.But now I've found that it doesn't fit roperly with a standard 1wire gm alternator, the bottom bracket is not in alignment with both bolt holes on the block.

Very nice kit. Easy to install and looks great. Needed to replace stock mounting brackets and these were cheaper and nicer looking than buying a new stock one. That's a win, win. Thanks
