I’m not quite sure how to test this device as you won’t know if it works properly until you have a choking incident. What I do know is that this is an emergency device that could be life saving and offers some reassurance if you have this with your first aid kit in an emergency. The pump style looks easy to use and it comes with mouth pieces that easily attach. If you are forced to use this in a moments notice, it is intuitive to assemble and use. The plastic pieces look strong and the value of the product is more than expected.

This is a nice device that comes with 2 adult M Masks (same size) and a child mask. The initial pump took some force to get the pump to move, but once I got it, it worked.I put it over my mouth and nose as instructed and pulled back and it did have suction. I felt it. I haven't had anyone choking to test it out with them yet, but it didn't push air back in when pumping down, it just sucks out with a 1 way valve. It's cheaper than the name brand, which I don't have. I'll be sure not to panic when using it, as I don't want the handle to break. It has a nice seal. The cushion is air filled. Overall, I'm happy with it. I'll see if it fits other masks if I get the chance. It's nice to have with me. I'm carrying it in my car so I can have it wherever I am.

I have a toddler and I'm always worried that she might choke while eating. I already have a LifeVac at home, but I wanted another one for when we go out. A LifeVac is $79.99 but this was $29.99 so I decided to try it.It comes in a nice transparent travel bag. It has 3 mouth attachments, for toddlers, and medium size for older kids, and another adult size one. It works via a pump handle like a tire pump, instead of a built-in handle like a LifeVac. I tried it on myself and the suction wasn't as strong as I liked and it didn't take my breath out my lungs like a LifeVac would. However, after 2 pumps, ot stated working. I'm nit sure it its the mouth seal or the pump but some suction is being lost. But it does work, just maybe not on the first try.Overall, for the price, it's a good replacement and is definitely better than nothing. However, you'd need mutiple pumps for it to work. If cost isn't an issue, then I'd recommend a genuine LifeVac. 4 🌟s. Mild recommendation.

Just like any life-saving device (AED, etc) you want to familiarize yourself with the device and how it works, the parts needed, etc. That's what I did with this choking rescue device. Initially, the plunger felt locked inside the tube. It took a considerable amount of force to initially break it free. Once freed, it draws air and creates a really good suction around the mouth and nose. The instructions are very informative and provide a step-by-step guide of what to do if someone is choking. The odd thing, is that the instructions do not mention "sweeping the mouth" which you generally do prior to administering CPR. Personally, if someone is choking and responsive, I'd resort to the Heimlich maneuver first before resorting to the suction.I initially bought this for the spouse since he's a first responder, but as it's not issued by their department, he can't carry this due to liability reasons. So it's going to the nieces and nephews as they'll be most likely to benefit having it close by.

I ordered this anti choking device to add to my first aid kit, especially since I have a toddler. Hopefully, I’ll never need to use it, but having it on hand gives me peace of mind. It comes in a compact, well-organized case with clear instructions and three different mask sizes. When I tested it out, I found that the first pull on the handle required more effort than expected, but after that, it worked smoothly. One important detail to note is that the device has an expiration date. If you’re planning to discard the box, be sure to check the date on the storage bag, mine is marked for 11/2027.Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase and would absolutely order it again. It’s a small investment for added safety, and I’d recommend it to any parent or caregiver.

I have often thought of getting one of these before but haven't until now. I like the fact that it is very easy to put together and use. There are two adult and one child masks enclosed. The mininum weight for a child is 22 pounds to use this. You simply put it over the nose and mouth, making sure there is a secure fit, and then pull on the handle, more than once if necessary. When it pushes back in, the air does NOT go into the victim's throat. This is cerfified for global safety and compliance. Obviously, it is not possible to tell how well it really works; but it seems well made and is something I think every household should have. I'm keeping mine in my car in case it is needed when I am away from home. I will keep watch to see if the changing weather affects the silicon on the masks.

I purchased this product for a different use from the one stated in the post, but think it would work well for its intended use, *especially for anyone living alone*!I have been in medicine for decades, and can immediately appreciate the benefits of this device. What I got it for: my older dog has a soft tissue tumor that developed an underlying infection that, in turn, created multiple tracts with openings filled with thick, prudent discharge. I saw that I could fit the adult-sized mask over this thing, and aspirate each opening at the same time. It works great as long as you can ensure a clean, smooth skin border around whatever it is you wish to apply negative pressure to. For my dog- fur removal was needed. For a person- think of facial hair, or any objects that might prevent a full, circumferential seal with the mask. A good seal is 100% necessary for this device to work.
