This check valve has a relatively high cracking pressure of about 6psi. That means that if the forward flow of liquid is not at least that then there will be no flow at all.If you are of a mind, the valve can be easily disassembled with a couple of wrenches and the spring can be replaced or cut down to achieve your desired cracking pressure.The valve is solidly built and works well.

This 1/2" check valve is made of stainless steel. The wall is very thick and the unit is heavy. The check valve system in deep inside the valve, will need special tools to remove and replace the check valve system parts. It's unclear that if it is lead free and can be used for drinking water. The price is probably reasonable for such a heavy duty fitting.
