I have bought Chigago screw before and nearly all are made from weak, soft metals. These appear to be stainless steel. The space between the screw heads measures .258" and the thickness of the shaft was .195". These Chicago screws are of very good quality.

Chicago screws are good for attaching things together in a way that is easily undone when needed. These are not quite long enough for the purpose I wanted them for which is putting handles on knives, but they work great for making leather sheaths, as I use them for the belt loop, and you can put it on and off without having to take your belt off.
