I have 2 other 7 cubic footchest freezers made by another manufacturer. I like both of them. Neither of them can compare to this unit. This freezer is quieterand uses less electricity annually. I also like the fact it is well made and has three roomy baskets. Overall I am very pleased with this freezer.

Wanted to add freezer storage and did my homework on a LOT of them. The joke in my family was "It's going to arrive damaged, so buy an inexpensive one...". This now sits in our home Office. I was a bit concerned about the noise (ZERO) and heat that the compressor may throw (also ZERO).I love that it has a green light to let you know all is OK and that it is running. I went ahead and bought two small, freezer thermometers just to be sure of the temps.I set the item upright BEFORE plugging it in for 24 hours. Be SURE to do this as the refrigerant needs to settle into the compressor fully, or you'll burn it out prematurely.This thing I set to around 4 out of 5 and maintains 0 degrees F. all day and night. It can also be set to 1 or 2 if you needed it as a refrigerator.One thing I wish it had (some others do) is an LED Light on the lid. When opened, the Light illuminates the freezer and makes for an easier search for what you're looking for.As the damage is minor and I expected much worse - and - as it is in my office, while still totally unacceptable, I didn't complain. It just works. Quietly... For how long? Who knows. But ultimately, I'm happy.If you're looking for a garage freezer and can accept some minor dings, this may be perfect for you.
