I had high hopes for this tool, but it did not make cutting the mango any easier whatsoever. Sad I wasted money on it.

Works very well. Better than a knife, and better than the round mango cutters. Must have if you eat a lot of mangoes.

The tip could be sharper; it takes a little work to "pierce the skin" when you begin the cut. But it is great at getting right up against the pit and curving around it. Lots less "lost" meat. As to scooping, well, as others have said, that's not its strong point. I've practiced but would almost still rather do that part by hand/finger. It just isn't wide enough to do the whole side at once, so you have to wiggle it around alot and try to get everything, and do so without piercing the skin. But overall, it's good.

You have to press hard against the pit, and then it comes away as clean as possible.

We are living in the Caribbean where mangos are a daily part of our diet. This tool made cutting magos so great. Have loved it.

the stainless scoop is well made and of good quality. unfortunately the silicone handle on the back needs more attention when cleaning - there is gap between the silicone cover and handle that will accumulate unwanted stuff/soap suds. it would be perfect if the silicone cover can be removed for cleaning if it’s not possible to be affixed tightly to the steel handle without leaving gap for unwanted stuff to get in between.

This does a great job disassembling mangoes. It's a little large for ataulfo/honey/champagne mangos, but works just fine. Leaves a little meat on the pit, but not nearly as much as the apple-slicer type pitters. Slips the cheeks out of the skin easily, you just poke the tip in and then rotate around. Edge is sharp enough to do the job, not sharp enough to likely cut yourself with.
