I really wanted to love this item.... but on the first use I learned the hard way that it doesn't have a tight seal. I used it for a frozen dessert, and once it started to thaw, most of the filling leaked out. Plus, we used plastic servers, and still scratched the base on first use. I wish I would've used it right away, as I missed the return window by 4 days. So frustrated.

The Spmarkt pan is a nice-looking spring form pan. My cake baked evenly in it, and it was super easy to transport by just popping on the lid. The lid was a bit of a challenge to pop on, but it needs to be to be secure enough to carry by the handle. Nice pan for the cost.

The only information provided about this springform pan is printed on the box, "Pullman Loaf Pan Food Grade, Easy Release" and general care/cleaning advice to avoid damage to the pan. You will need to visit the Amazon site for specifics regarding the metal and safety of its nonstick coating. The lid with carry handle is made of plastic and an exercise in frustration when it comes to getting it on and off. It's a very poor fit and even when I did manage to get it on with some force it lacks a good seal around the side. Since I already have a well-made 9" spring form pan, I was mainly interested in this 10" pan for its carry handle lid to store and transport baked items securely and the fact it fails to work properly is disappointing. As for the latch on the pan it works easily although the seal around the bottom is a little loose and may be problematic with a thin batter in the baking and removal process. This set also includes the 3 plastic baking tools you can see in the photo.

This pan comes with a lid, and tools, which makes it nicer than just your basic springform pan. I ordered it because I love a good cheesecake, and will be using it for that, and some potential cakes. Although it isn't dishwasher safe, it is fairly easy to clean. I'm always cautious about the durability of ceramics, so I'm probably overly cautious. My first cheesecake turned out okay, but not great due to my recipe modifications, not the pan. All in all, it is a pretty good pan. I've never owned another to compare it to, just that I wish it were dishwasher safe. Hence the 4/5 stars.

This is a nice pan and I love the look of it, however the bottom is never fully tight when the latch is fully tightened. It still shifts around a bit more than it should and makes me nervous about doing anything requiring a water bath or anything liquidy that doesn't have a crust.The lid works well once its on, but getting it on and off is a monumental challenge. Its VERY hard to to either, so if what you have baked in it is delicate you might destroy it while trying to get the lid on or off.Overall, the materials, color, and finish are great, but the design could use some improvements.

The good points:Comes with white plastic texture tools (see last photo).If you are making a bread, egg and cheese strata (is that what they are called?) you would leave the springform side on and the blue side enhances any food baked in the pan.Of course, for a cheesecake, you would remove the springform side. Then the pan looks pretty mych like the Wilton plain $19 springform pans on Amazon.As far as quality, the Wilton springform and this pan seem pretty close to the same.With this pan, which is about $7 more, you get a lid and the texturizing tools.And there is that intrinsic value to the cook that a pretty pan lends to any cooking project. It is more fun and inspiring to pull out a pretty pan than a blah one.My concerns:This pan’s bottom has the “bumps” upside down! See the picture—whatever you are making and let’s just say that it is cheesecake—will sink into each depression.I am a little uneasy over goopier stuff being given a stronger purchase on the bottom of this pan.There us also a picture of the bumps on the bottom of the Wilton springform pan. Those bumps are THE OPPOSITE. They are raised on the bottom of the pan. Wilton has so many decades of experience (heck, I have been buying from them since the late 1960’s, and they were in business long before that) that if they do something a certain way, there is always a reason.My other concern is whether cooked on stains will remain permanently. Will this pan only look great the first or second time out?!I will take an S.O.S. Pad GENTLY to my Wilton springforms to spiff them up occasionally, but I suspect that the lovely blue finish on this pan may be too thin and delicate for that.The lid is a bit of a tussle to snap onto the pan. See picture of the underside of the lid. The little plastic tabs must go on the outside of the pan’s blue side. I found it a bit difficult to manage and was only successful when I balanced the pan on it’s side and fussed with the lud, but if you had food in the pan or might fall out if you cocked the pan on it’s side against a counter-lol.I have to give the pan 5 stars because my concerns about the “dimples” or bumps on the bottom of the pan are not as yet proven. As is my concern about how well or poorly it might clean up.A very pretty pan that could make a splash at a get-together or pot luck.
