The Allen bolts going to the bed needed to be hex bolts and maybe I little bit bigger. The bolt they give you to bolt the roll bar to the bracket was 3 times the size. Looks great after some redilling

2008 Toyota Tundra owner, and my goal was to mount lights on it, and I made it work. This kit is overall solid and does what it says it will do. The variable sleeves can be difficult to slide into position over the embedded threaded rivets, and twisting them over the powder coat finish you can easily scuff these (the finish is not very thick, expect some small scratches and scuffs just from handling it during assembly, building it over a friendly surface like carpet helps). I installed it by myself so it would likely have been a bit easier to wrestle with having two people to do things like push and pull from both sides to get the width correct before install. The install uses four rivet nuts, which required a 7/16" drill bit (I drilled a guide first) for the holes but also a special tool that I was able to find at the local parts store: Dorman 963-266D M8 Rivet Nut Tool which cost about $9 and will allow you to complete the job. As tempting as it may be to believe you could otherwise just screw this rack in place don't do that, the rivet nuts are extremely solid and required if you want it to last. I installed a test rivet nut before proceeding, in a spot that would not be visible on my bed rails. This gave me the chance to feel how it pulls up, like an anchor. One odd thing was the included hardware vs what is listed as included are broken up into smaller quantities, which were then made up for by unpacking the spare parts labeled bag and adding to the individual bags by sight. Also the M8 rivet nuts were listed as a far higher quantity in the manual vs what it ships with loose because in this case they seemed to be counting the already installed rivet nuts. In the end I had to rob four locking washers back off the unit, but it's possible I used them in a spot they did not suggest using them in.So a little quirky but nothing unreasonable, especially in this price range. Hopefully it will hold up over time. I wish the powder coating was thicker and tougher. I like that it doesn't have some brand name logo you're forced to use on the side panels. I am actually considering hack sawing off those tabs and grinding down then covering with a little black paint, to just have the tube appearance as those side panels do not seem required.Lighting Mount Info (if like me that's why you want this)The main pieces of pipe across the center section are 3", the sleeves that are used to hold it in place and allow width adjustment are over 3" by maybe 1/16" or so. I used the Audak 3" light mounts and the 3" pipe allowed enough room to use the included rubber strips, while I had to forego those on those larger diameter sleeves and just tighten down. So far so good.

2006 Taco prerunner acces cab. It was 2 1/2 inches too big. The size doesnât fit. I had to cut the center tubes to make it fit to the size of the bed. The nuts that are installed in the tubes donât hold. I had to replace 4 of them. Iâd you have bed liner (like me) you also have to make an adaption to the way they sent to anchor it to the bed. Instructions ok and wrap ok. I received the package damaged but thanks to the wrap, no tubes were bent. Not satisfied with the product. Itâs not worth the price I paid.

I ordered this not knowing if I could make it fit my 2011 Tacoma. I was able to trim just enough off the centerpieces on either end to be able to accommodate the width of 63.5â. Additionally I needed to drill a couple of extra holes in the smaller 1â pipe and 3â connector sleeves. This universal kit feels far more sturdy and looks better than I hoped for. This is a good bang for your buck deal. If you have a small pickup you want to install this on it can be done but I donât think youâll get it any smaller than 63.5â without some major fabrication.
