Perfekt.

It was very hard to remove because I didn’t know there was a plastic nut on the inside of the switch under the grill. You have to get the old one off and KEEP TRACK of where the wires came from! the main starter with the battery gets worn out too. It won’t make the click feel or sound until the 2 wires are connected to the correct places. It took me a few tries to get it correct. It is not the only fix to the igniter. But it did fix my grill igniters.

It turns out there are four parts to the igniter system, yeah, even five. There are the igniters themselves, one for each burner, the push button or buttons, the battery, the wires, and the igniter module. I bought this because one day nothing happened when I pushed the button. I did replace the battery, and that made no difference. That left the button itself, the wires, the igniters, and the module. Since the module is solid state, that was my last choice. There are two igniters in my system, so I figured it would be unlikely for both to fail. This kit includes the wires from the button to the module and the button itself.Unfortunately for me, I didn't check the wires before I ordered the kit. It turns out one was disconnected, and so I now have a spare push button sitting in my garage! And that, my friend, is the rest of the story. I figure this was too cheap to return. Next time maybe I'll use a voltmeter to check before I order the part, or maybe not.

It worked perfectly. I installed this Char-Broil Surefire universal electronic ignition button (Item model number 9446392) together with a new Char-Broil Surefire universal electronic ignition module (Item model number 8678636p06). It worked perfectly with my Char-Broil grill model 463251413. To avoid scraping layers of skin off of my knuckles when removing the locknut on the old ignition button, I removed the trim piece that was in the way (I simply removed 4 philips screws that were holding the trim piece and heat shield in place). The "SNAP-SNAP" sound is working again.

The original ignition button died on our grill after about 4 years of use. Clicking it made no audible noise, and I had replaced the battery. This part was delivered timely and was relatively easy to install. It's not the connector that's challenging, it's getting your fingers into the slot of where the connector has to plug in that took a little finagling. Once i figured out how to hold the wire so i could get it into the slot where it needed to go, it took seconds to replace. Part is of high quality, comes with the switch and the wires to replace.

The switch itself is nicely built and is an exact replacement for the original that came on my Two Burner Tru Infrared grill from Home Depot. The original still worked, but it required about 1000 lbs of thumb pressure in just the right spot to work. The install is straightforward if you take two extra minutes to remove the six screws holding the metal plates that cover the back of the switch. The temptation will be to just wiggle your hand between the covers, but don't waste your time. Once I had access to the switch, I used two pliers to hold the front and back while I twisted. The rest is self-explanatory.The switch works great now and, even if I have to replace it every couple of years, I'm fine with that.
