There seems to be a review that marks this down because they took a name and extrapolated it was "France like." Seems that's a headspace problem for the reviewer. This is Induction 21 which is designed to be used for induction but can be used anywhere, has good heat distribution, it's stout, cooks well. With induction the beauty of the method comes out as you have very good temperature control. Now, don't be an idiot and think it's French. Don't be a bigger idiot and post that you thought it was french because of the name alone. It's a US company started by a german woman like 50 yrs ago, and was just acquired by JAM enterprises. The cookware is made in various places, the Induction 21 is made in China using "Japanese steel" which is perhaps like "Corinthian leather" meaning a nonsense term, but obviously some people put a lot of stock in nonsense terms and assume an origin based on a name and the like, and get wadded about stuff having absolutely nothing to do with the actual product performance as a result. That said, I have this in one location and All Clad in another. This has a heavier base than the all Clad to me, size for size, unless you get really high up in the All Clad line (as opposed to D3 for example). The temperature responsiveness is actually surprisingly good though, you would think otherwise given the stoutness of the cookware. I personally use this with a GE SmartCafe induction dual oven range, and occasionally a portable induction when using for entertaining outside. I cannot speak for other induction surfaces.

trusted this "France" seeming brand only to see "made in China". quality is no better than if you bought a cheap $50 pan at Walmart or Target
