After a lot of research, Channellock hit a home run with the ratcheting wrenches. Both work very well and easily fit in any tool pouch. I have used the ratcheting wrenches in multiple situations and the wrenches have paid off very well. Sturdy and rugged the ratcheting wrenches can take abuse. Thank you Channellock for a great product and a fair price. I will continue to support Channellock.

One of the wrenchs came with a broken spring before I even had the chance to use it. Very disappointing as now 16mm and 17mm is unusable

I am a sucker for anything made in the USA. I bought these wrenches and have no plans on returning them, but I'm certainly not impressed with the build quality. The ratchet action is very coarse coarse and long making them nearly useless in tight situations.

I really like these types of combination wrench sets. I've owned several sets of Huskys that does the same thing but the build quality, specifically the directional switch, kept breaking off. The directional switch on these by Channellock are much simpler and seems much less likely to fail.

I decided to buy the metric set, though I doubt it'll get nearly the usage that I've gotten from the standards.I've written another review of a Channellock product, and here again I'll state that thus far I've come to trust their USA made tools. Overall excellent value at a modest price. Mine get used frequently, they're part of my initial maintenance call kit. They're very light in comparison to other multi ratchets, due to the composite construction, but no less sturdy and capable. A fella I work with commented how light they were compared to his Crescent branded version. I subtracted one star for durability, but it's a relatively minor complaint; the ratchet pin has a tendency to get stuck and disable the tool briefly. The quick fix is to whack it against something and dislodge the pin, but ultimately the issue is the user's fault. Written directly on the tool itself is "clean and oil regularly", which is adviseable because the ratchet pin gets a little crud in there and sticks. Bear in mind that I do clean and oil these regularly, and this issue has only cropped up when the tool is overdue for a cleaning. You could almost add back the star because it's withstood my whack-to-dislodge technique.I'm thinking of buying another metric and standard set for home use, I think they'd make great gifts as well.

These wrenches are well-made, strong, and handy. As a bonus, they are also US made! The ratchet mechanism is not of the 'fine tooth' variety that is all the fad right now, but it is very robust, simple, and easy to clean. After owning these for a while, I think I actually prefer this style of ratchet, over some of the more expensive fine tooth ones I have used. I buy my tools to use on a farm, and that often means using them outside, in the dirt and grime. I have had several of my fine tooth ratcheting box wrenches have problems with the mechanism siezing, not holding properly, and even falling apart. Not so with these. The ratchet is very positive, and is very easy to clean if dropped in the dirt. The reversing mechanism, also, seems simple and robust. While it has far fewer teeth than some, I don't believe it is a real negative, as these are not really designed as obstruction or close quarter wrenches, but rather handy wrenches to have, when you only want to carry around a few tools. Each end of the wrench, fits two sizes, for example, you access the 7/16 size on one end of the small wrench. If you wish to use the 1/2 inch size, you merely flip it over. As an added bonus, the way the two sizes are built into each end, the bolt head (on at least some of the sizes) will not pass entirely through, it goes into the wrench head to full engagement, and no deeper. One negative to the design, and the main reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that there is no 'offset' to the wrench. Since you have to flip it to access a different size, the wrench must be of a straight design. The head is fairly thick, which raises the handle up away from the work a little bit, but I have large hands, and I must be careful not to scrape my knuckles on things. Also, and this is a minor gripe, the two most commonly used sizes, at least for me are the 1/2 and 9/16 sizes. They are not on the same wrench, meaning I have to carry both wrenches along most of the time.In summary:Pros: Strong, yet compactconvenient in that you get 8 sizes in only 2 toolseasy to clean, reliable ratcheting mechanismUSA madeCons:ratchet not as fine as manycould use more clearance under the handle1/2 and 9/16 not on the same wrench
