A Brief History of Chamois
Original chamois came from the skin of a mountain antelope (the chamois). As the antelope are now protected, the best chamois now sold is made from spit sheepskin, tanned by marine oils in the skin. Our sheepskin chamois is tanned with 100% cod oil, acknowledged as the best for this purpose.

Using and Caring for Your Sheepskin Chamois
- Before using the chamois for the first time, you have to thoroughly wash it with warm soapy water until the rinse water no longer has a yellow tint. DO NOT USE degreasing soap or harsh chemicals.
- Before each use for car cleaning, a chamois should be rinsed with clean water and completely wrung out.
- After each use, a chamois should be thoroughly washed with clean soapy water, rinsed, and wrung out repeatedly until clean. Hang it up away from direct sunlight to dry a chamois.

The product feels just like the leather chamois I used to clean my 1967 Jaguar XKE. They both worked great. No worries about scratching or streaking . It does the job I expected. The large size is a real plus also

This is the only cloth i can find that doesn't put swirlmarks into gold and brass! Even the best microfiber cloths i own will put millions of tiny scratches, but not chamois. Buy it fir your watches, jewelry and collectibles!

My chamois were delivered on time. They are very soft, the quality is very good and has that authentic chamois scent. I followed the wash before use instructions, but it left a bit of lint. I contacted Northern Bear International. Sophia responded promptly. She apologized, was very pleasant and professional. I purchased this thinking I was getting a quality item. This is not real leather but synthetic at best and comes from China.I followed directions for use and it leaves cream lint all over my black vehicle!!!I tried it several times thinking after the first use the lint would stop but it actually worsened.I wanted to send it back but missed the window.😥

Update: I need this for drying my car and the thickness doesn’t measure up. Returning to pay more for a thicker chamois. The item is packaged well. Cut professionally but sleight of hand in description sends the wrong impression. Looks fine for less arduous use. Leaving 3 star review so up to the buyer.Right of the bat, the pictures say "Sheepskin Elite From Canada " in bold, but small letters on the package I missed say Made in China. The reviews are mixed. given the deceptive nature of the item description, I wonder if the great reviews are either engineered or provided from people given 'free' merchandise. be aware this product is not made in Canada and the material is quite thin, so I won't be surprised if there are holes in it after a while. I owned an original Chamois and this is much thinner and flimsier. 3 stars as jury is out zero stars for deception and big flag of canada in the description. Imported from China, ok. but why hide it behind a Canadian Flag?
