I have used chameleon pigment before but this is my first time using chameleon flakes. The flakes are essentially very finely shredded foils. The purple/blue has a gorgeous amethyst to peacock blue shift. It is easy to dapple across a mold but it takes some effort to get a more solid coverage. If you want something pretty solid, chameleon pigment is easier to spread evenly. The chameleon flakes are great for glittery, speckled, dappled effects.I used a nail paint brush to apply the flakes to a silicon mold before I poured in my resin. It worked really well for me.I love the look of these chameleon flakes. I like the speckled effect they give as well as the gorgeous color shift. I highly recommend it if you want a dappled effect.

It’s a beautiful color, but a very small container

So I have some chameleon flakes I wanted to compare this container to, those were five bucks a piece and are so tiny I legit can’t find them at the moment, no more than a third of the size of this one. The larger container alone makes it easier to use but you can see that despite being packaged by weight and not volume, there’s quite a lot of the stuff in there! I regret not getting more when I had the chance. You can use these flakes for resin but they also look beautiful with gel nails and a topcoat!
