I love this product, and it's not the manufacturers fault that it's advertised as 12 pieces and I only received 6. It's good quality and nice to work with. Just double up if you need 24 pieces instead of 12, which I needed for my class.

I was hesitant on these because it was the cheapest set I could find but the quality is good. Probably not the absolute best but for the price these are great for my art class. The hard was nice and compressed and the soft was smooth just like you'd want with charcoal. My only issue is they are slightly thicker than other brands so they might get a little dull overtime but I'm sure you could scrape it against a scrap paper to get a sharper tip. If I ever needed more charcoal I'd buy these again.

Don't go on smoothly, as the ends of the stick show darker if using it on it's side. Can break in two, to help.

I’m using these for my own projects and they are really nice for me to use as well as my fingers don’t get too dusty with charcoal cause I don’t like to get my clients covered with charcoal whenever I’m doing something that I need done with them but I’m not really into the whole worrying when I’m sketching stuff on people. I’m just trying to get a good idea for what I’m going for with the charcoal works great. The one thing I’ve noticed about it is you can shade your objects / clients with ease with these. Hope I didn’t get to personal but it is what it is.

These sticks are nice and dark. I use the soft ones for my white charcoal + black paper drawings to make the paper blacker. I use the sticks themselves to blacken large areas and I grind half of them into powder for smoother, smaller applications. They work great for both. I was afraid that the lack of a brand name meant they might not be good quality as us usually the case with paint, but I didn’t notice a difference in quality between these and other brands.
