If you have a small tractor with a loader capable of lifting 30- or 50-gallon drums, this is the way to move them. Both sides are left or right so the chain on one side is twisted when attached to a drum. A small detail, but should have been one left and one right.

I used this to lift and move a 55-gallon drum used to collect wood stove ashes through the winter. Prior to this it always took two of us, one to drive the front loader and the other to tilt the drum so the front bucket could get under the drum, then to push the drum onto front bucket while the driver operated the hydraulic actuator. The drop is quite heavy with six months of ashes collected. It is very strong, steel construction, looks like ti will give a lot of use over many years. Now that I have this lifter and can hoist heavier loads, there are many more uses for some additional barrels I have in the garage!

I have a barrel lifter I built for moving metal barrels, but it wouldn't work with plastic barrels.I use plastic barrels for moving water when I need it, but had no way of lifting and setting them any where. I had to fill it in the truck, or on a carry all, or in the tractor bucket, but I couldn't set it off. Now I can easily lift and move and place it any where needed. I'm impressed how well it grips the rim of the plastic barrels.This is well constructed from cast metal and seems to be very rugged. I like the smaller thick links of the chain, makes it feel stronger without being too heavy.A great product for anyone with the need to lift and move barrels.

Honestly for the ask I wasn't sure what sort of quality this would be.We are constantly struggling to move barrels of oil, and product, so I thought this would be a much nicer way to move barrels without struggling to get them on a cart, or wrestling them where they need to go.The clamps seem very nice, the springs are stiff, and when attaching they hold on very nicely.Chain seems high quality, but i didnt see a spec for material/weight on the add (usually chain is way over rated for what capacity is listed at, for safety)It Verks!!!We were able to move barrels very easily with this, it will be a god send for us.
