I use this product for etching/darkening knives, works like a charm especially in pattern welded steel, but also to reveal temper lines in hardened steel, useful when restoring vintage axes or blades.My order was lost in the mail to no fault of the seller, I reached out to them explaining the situation and a replacement was at my door in a matter of days. I purchased this to etch carbon steel knives and it works like a charm. I was using vinegar before, but I got tired of messing with heating it up to speed the reaction. The ferric chloride resulted in a nice, dark etch in just a few minutes. Packaging could have been better as the tops were caved in like they'd been dropped 10ft onto the lids of the containers, but surprisingly there were no leaks. Good deal for the volume you get. Will buy again.
