The sturdy 11 ounce linen has a medium-fine tooth, making it perfect for all oil painting techniques. The oil primed linen is such an elegant surface compared to any canvas I've used. Paint glides on, and the tooth to this linen pad is much smoother and a better surface for fine details. It's in a different universe than the rough plastic-feel of the Fredrix canvas pad I'd bought earlier, and better than any canvas I've tried. I liked this so much I ordered a ten pack to use for lessons I am taking, and a bunch of the Centurion oil primed linen panels as well. Very happy with these!
