I couldn't raise my cello up enough to leave the end pin in place. A little disappointing but it will stand with the end pin not out as I would have liked it to be.

This is a review for Cello Stand - Adjustable and Foldable with Hook for Bow - Collapsible Design for Easy Storage - Compatible Guitar Instrument Stand - Complete with XL Microfiber Cloth.I bought a guitar, but it did not come with any way to protect it other than just a cheap bag. Looking for a way to protect it better, I came across this stand and figured what better way to protect and store it than on a stand. The stand seems to be very sturdy and secure. It came well packaged to best protect it from damage. Unfortunately, and to the detriment of my opinion of the manufacturer, it came with absolutely no instructions on how to put it together. I figured it out though, but my opinion of the manufacturer has not changed. I think it is pretty disappointing that a company would not, at a minimum, provide something so essential to save a penny. This has lowered my rating significantly. I also will not recommend this to anyone and would strongly suggest you find a stand from a reputable company that can provide something so simple.

As noted in other reviews, there are no instructions included, not even a parts-list. This is not designed for a cello. Looking again at the photo on the product page, it is obvious that the photo was edited to place the cello so it appears to be in the stand. In reality, even the highest position is too low to the ground to allow sufficient space for a cello.Assembly was not too difficult. There was a bit of guessing about parts and positions. There were two washers included without any explanation, of course, about where they should be placed. I placed them to hold the bottom supports in place (those screws are already screwed all the way into the bottom of the legs, so it is easy to assume that those parts are missing - a confusion that could easily be avoided by simply including some directions). I had to consult the photo on the product page to determine which direction the vertical section should face.It does not sit flat on the floor, so the space of a few millimeters allows the stand to rock. It is not so unstable that it will fall over, but it is an annoyance. There does not appear to be any means of adjustment to correct this. While lacking any kind of documentation the manufacturer provides an Allen wrench for tightening the screws holding the supports at the bottom and a flat-metal wrench for tightening the bolts to hold the supports for the bottom of the cello and the hook for the neck. The heads of these bolts are in the shape of acorn nuts and are large enough to tighten sufficiently by hand, but the wrench does help make it a bit more secure. The third item that is included is a soft cleaning cloth. It would have been better to include instruction rather than a piece of cloth.I am now using the stand to hold an acoustic guitar, but the hook that goes around the neck has an opening that does not seem very secure, or it would be if the whole stand didn't rock as much as it does. While the instability mentioned earlier would not cause the stand itself to fall over, I am not convinced that any instrument would not fall out of the stand with the combination of movement and the short side of the hook. I will look into adding something to close off that opening to make it more secure.I would not recommend this stand. Besides the lack of instructions, there is the problem with stability and safely securing an instrument in the stand.

This stand came well packaged, but notably without instructions of any kind. It included all the parts needed and two wrenches, one monkey wrench and one allen wrench, needed for assembly. Even without instructions it went together pretty easily. Just remember that the washers go on the foot piece screws and the dimple in those feet goes on the bottom. Seems obvious, I guess, which makes me wonder why I had to think about it. The bottom plus top support for a full sized guitar, as pictured, is excellent. The top is adjustable over a long distance. This actually held my large bass guitar very well. And the lower supports can be screwed in at three different heights. I assume the lowest one is for cellos. The middle one may be for smaller cellos. But the highest setting is necessary for most full sized guitars. So, they're not so much height adjustments as width adjustments. I did try my Squier Mustang short scale guitar and it was not wide enough to be held by the lower supports. I'd say that if you have a really nice guitar you leave out to play, and you want it to have a chance of getting through a low level earthquake, this is the stand you want. Very supportive and secure. It also comes with a guitar/cello cleaning cloth, although I have no idea why. I like this stand a lot and will use it for my favorite playing guitar. I don't have a cello, so I don't know how it would work for one, although I imagine it would work well.

This is fine for a guitar (in fact, a bit of overkill). But for a cello, as other reviewers have noted, it doesn't sit high enough for a cello. You can get around this by affixing the legs to a wooden box, using hardware strapping or U-brackets. But at $60, you should be able to expect it to perform its intended function out of the box.Yes, you can retract the endpin in order to make it work, but surely the point of a stand is to have the instrument ready at hand's reach, to encourage practicing.

The cradles for the cello body cannot be adjusted high enough for the endpin to remain extended (to 1 foot for me) when cello is in the stand.

We ordered one of these, and when it arrived found that is was missing the particular screws necessary to assemble the piece. It came with a regular wrench, allen wrench, two washers, but no screws. So we returned the first and requested a second, thinking it was a fluke. It was not. The second version also arrived without all of the necessary parts, and without assembly instructions. Would not recommend this brand.
