This does help the stability of a telescope and cuts on vibrations substantially, leading to better long exposure astrophotos. However, these pads do not age well and need to be replaced after a few months.

I was a little sceptical about how effective these are but man, they work amazingly!!! I use my telescope on our wooden deck and every breath I took would shake the damn view. With these pads I can move my body around and take steps and adjust the tube and the movement through the view is very minimal and I don't lose my focus. I got these fairly soon after getting my telescope and would recommend them to everyone with a telescope. They are an essential item of kit.

These pads absorb vibrations much better than other makes for using with a telescope tripod. It can make all the difference for observing.

Purchased these for our Star Sense Explorer 80 MM and use them for our Nexstar 8 SE as well. Doesn't completely cut out the vibration but about a 90% improvement! Without them, the slightest bump or the changing of the eyepiece would send the object being viewed bouncing but with these it has made the movement very subtle and stops after a second or two. Definitely worth the money! Been using them for months, in the heat and now the cold...and no issues to report.

These things are big and feels solid on hand. And they magically reduces vibrations greatly for my a bit flimsy 3 section camera tripod leg + gear head + C6 setup. At 300X magnification, before having these pads, my building seems vibrating and causes the image to vibrate at high frequency very often, after adding these pads, vibrations induced from floor are greatly reduced! And vibration settling time from touching the tripod / focuser seems to damp down twice faster.I know, this is kind of expensive and those replica pads are 50% cheaper, but I have to trust Celestron on this one because they claim (according to their website) these are made of Sorbothane, while the other replica never claimed to use the same material.

I'm a huge skeptic of what appear to be worthless accessories, or at least items which make very marginal gains. Well... These things work... really well. My scope is mounted on a Celestron CGEM DX, and I've gotten to pretty well know how much instability is associated with the use of this mount. I know how much the image will shake and how long based on the eyepiece I use, the rate of slew I use and how hard I bump the eyepiece from routine viewing with this particular mount. The first night of use and I couldn't believe how well these things absorb vibrations from mount manipulation. It literally felt like I upgraded mounts. The concrete pad where my telescope is placed is rock solid and doesn't suffer from vibrations, even if you start jumping around, I mainly purchased these to save my tripod legs from wear but these things keep vibrations from reciprocating back to the telescope during slewing, viewing, and photography. It's rare for me to praise a product as I usually have lofty expectations, but for forty bucks it's well worth it.

I have a Celestron 130 SLT telescope and have recently tried my hand at astrophotography. The mount is a little on the light side, so just a slight gust of wind can send it shaking. I used these suppression pads last night and was shocked by the difference they made. Now, they won't do much for vibrations caused by adjusting the focus knob, but the wind vibrations are basically eliminated! They almost feel like a thin hockey puck, but lighter. The orange ring is a very squishy, soft material. A little pricey, but these are good quality pads. My viewing experience was MUCH more enjoyable after using these. Recommended!

I have only used these a few times since I got them and they do make a difference especially with astro photography with my 8se. My ground that I use the scope on is either in my front yard or a state forest a few miles away and I can tell you with the amount I bump into my scope with my hands this definitely stops the image from shaking. I literally jumped up and down next to my scope and the image did not rattle. I can see this might nor work with every scope as I did try with a lighter 4 inch scope and I did notice jitter but the heaver the scope I think this will work better. Also you have to follow the directions where at least one of the bottom bumps needs to point inwards toward the center of the tripod and thus leaving the two other bumps on the outside giving the stability.

They really don't help that much unless you have a pretty heavy telescope. Most of the giggling I had was where my OTA attached to the mount (I didn't know this until I purchased these) because they did nothing for the problem. I reinforced the inside of the OTA and no more giggles with or without the suppression pads...before you buy take a good hard look elsewhere and save the money.
