Received my focuser in the original box. Works great with my Celestron Nexstar 6SE. It was easier to focus on the Moon and Jupiter with this electronic focuser than using my hand. I connected the focuser through the Aux port of my mount, and I was able to focus the telescope through the telescope’s hand controller.

I found this easy to install with simple instructions. It came with the tools needed to install and it actually easy to use with programs such as SkyPortal for your phone and computer programs. If you like to take photos of planets or even DSO you will be happy you purchased this product, well worth the money.

Love the auto focus. Everything was as advertised. I haven’t put it on my scope yet. But very professional. Will definitely do more business. Well done.

Yes you can use it on other mounts but its a work around. So far it won't just work with my Skywatcher with out using a computer.

Great product. Couldn’t do my planet photography without it! The only problem was with an adapter plate that didn’t have a counterbore on the backside. This caused the focuser to jam when tightened. I used the original plate along with the adapter and some longer screws to correct this problem. Other than that it works great.

A very well made and easy to use focuser. Allows me to avoid the winters of Pennsylvania while focusing via computer from inside the house. Connects immediately and functions through Celestron’s free CPWI (Celestron Plane Wave Instruments) program. Installation is a challenge, and a little swearing and tinkering is required. Instant adjust focusing speed (3 speeds) allow for accurate focus. A bit expensive, but most electronic focusers are. Easy to recommend.

Definitely the most cost effective motorized focuser for Celestron SCT telescopes- as long as you don't have a 9.25" w/ Focal Reducer. But I have an 8" EdgeHD and it works great. I do wish the instructions were more clear and I do feel the design of the telescope could be improved, but this focuser is actually really good. It uses a servo motor so it's actually quite fast vs a stepper. The only negative is that the focuser is not temperature compensated.

As of now, this has been a huge headache and a bigger disappointment - stay awayPurchased for my C8 on an AVX mount, my first serious astro rig which is only 2 years old.the physical Install was fairly easy and straight forward, except when you discover that it doesn't take much to "over tighten" any of the screws to cause binding.  I do mean it doesn't take much.  I fumbled around with loosening and tightening to get the right combo for a few hours.  Back off a screw less than a quarter turn and it all moves freely but the screws are loose and the whole focuser wobbles about.  Finger snug the screws and its too tight the focuser would barely move before binding up.  One suggestion from Celestron was to use the original focus collar as a spacer on top of the focus motor collar, i have not done this yet so not sure if it works.  The software portion has been just as fun.  The only bit of software that seems to reliable work is the supplied focus motor utility app, but only if you connect to it directly through USB i.e. computer - usb - focuser.  Outside of that, good luck getting it to work via ASCOM with CPWI or SharpCap, maybe you could but you'd have to follow one of 30 different combinations of "power this on first then that, then plug the USB only to this or that, then..." Its  a big mess honestly.  Ive update all my Celestron gear to the latest greatest firmware and software packages from Celestron that allegedly support their own focus motor only to find it kinda works sometimes.  No matter which way I connect to my mount or focuser it will loose ASCOM connection shortly after.  As if all this wasn't enough fun, now my AVX mount does some of the weirdest maneuvers when its slewing that half the time i have to cut power to it before it crashes into itself
