I was stumped trying to install a fan on my living room's vaulted ceiling. The idea of building a wooden box, as the electrician proposed, was daunting. Then, I discovered this ceiling mount.This mount replaced the need for a wooden box, creating a professional - looking install. As every cathedral ceiling angle varies, my builder cut the mount to fit. After screwing it in, caulking, and painting, it looked great.

I'm super impressed with this product! In our new abode, the primary bedroom has cathedral ceilings.Installation was super easy. The instructions is clear, and even me, who is not very handy, managed it with ease. It took less than an hour to set up, saving both time and money on extra electrician labor.If you're grappling with a similar sloped ceiling fan mounting problem, this product is a must have. We recently converted our attic into a living space and were told by our electrician we couldn't have our ceiling fan centered due to the cathedral ceilings. This is simply not the case if you use this angle mount. We were able to put the fan exactly where we wanted: centered in the spot where the two sides of the ceiling meet to form a peak. The mount is also strong and holds the fan securely. Very happy to have found this!

Picked up this mounting box for my cathedral ceiling last month. Installation wasnt too bad, even for a DIY rookie like me. Had to get creative with some wood to frame it out, but attaching the box went okay. The textured finish matches my ceiling - didnt need paint. Instructions couldve been clearer on screw placement. Used wrong ones first, had to redo (doh!). Box feels sturdy, which is good when hanging something heavy overhead. Hung my big fan without problems. The cable connector that comes with it is handy, saved a trip to the store. Downside is the plastic makes me wonder about how long itll last, but seems fine for now. Wouldve been nice if it came with more screws - ran out halfway through. This mounting box does what it says on the tin. If youve got a sloped ceiling and want to hang a fan or light without calling someone in, this might work for you. Double check you have everything before you start though. It works well enough and wont break the bank. Decent option if you need something for an angled ceiling, but keep your expectations in check.

This is a nice item for the right usage. Unfortunately, I misread the listing, and misunderstood its intended purpose. We are planning to replace an existing ceiling fan that's hung from a cathedral (sloped) ceiling, but is not hung from the peak of the ceiling. So I need a sloped canopy and downrod extension that match the new fan. When I saw this Ceiling Fan Angle Mount, I thought it would simply screw into the existing electric box, providing a level surface on which I could mount the new fan. After having received it, I realize that it will not work that way. This mount is intended for mounting a ceiling fan from the peak of a cathedral ceiling only. Additionally, since it needs to be fastened to the 2=by framing, it is best suited for new construction...not retrofit. If I had studied the listing more carefully, I would have understood. That said, this is a quality item. You are getting a well constructed, heavy duty electric box which will satisfactorily support a ceiling fan on a cathedral ceiling. You just need the right conditions to make it work. I am deducting one star because the listing could have been more clear.
