Has a little bit higher pitch-but can be heard throughout our band of 130 students outside! The color is cute and it’s very easy to carry around. Didn’t chip or break at all! The little drumsticks are funny but you’ll need real drumsticks to actually use it. Extremely good price for using it everyday and small enough to carry around in my everyday bag! Very functional

This mounted pretty easily to the mast I had for my cowbell, and I can actually put it above the cowbell and reach both of them.The tone is a bit thin if you hit the block with the tip of of stick (I was using 5A sticks), but it gets pretty chunky when you hit it with the shaft of the drumstick. Pretty loud, but I suspect it would be louder if maybe the material was thinner. This block was heavier than I expected it to be.I'll note that the finish on this is textured but also not excellent. There's a fair amount of random parting lines where the plastic flowed a bit unevenly into the mold. However, given that this isn't a show piece and it's also quite bargain priced (about $14 US Dollars at the time of this review), this is acceptable. It's very sturdy so ultimately I'm not worried about banging on it for the next decade.

This is a copy of an LP Jam Block, but it's a bit rough around the edges both finish-wise and sonically. Add to that the fact that the mounting hardware is kinda janky. It's not terrible -- hit it in just the right spot and it's got a loud, clear, cutting sound -- but it's something that looks like it was designed and manufactured to fit a price point first, and the sound second.

Pros: multiple "tones," crisp but not piercing, pleasant. Audible in a group with guitar, bass, and keyboard all amplified. Comes with a cute keychain. Easily mountable. Durable.Cons: Deadens quickly after being hit (might not be a detraction to all users, just something to be aware of.) Appearance is somewhat rough.

This gock block was used to keep tempo for a marching percussion group on competition day, and could be heard by the entire ensemble over all the background noise and music. This worked great if you could find the sweet spot, and had a great tone and timbre. It came with a keychain, which was unfinished wood that I accidentally broke in my pocket, so that wasn't the greatest quality. I have nothing bad to say about the block itself, and I loved it.

I have the matching “red big brother” to this lil blue guy and I love the tone they both have off each other and definitely recommend getting them as a set. The smaller blue one gets used more in smaller to medium sized performances and general use due to its volume and projection. The larger, red one is super loud and best for large groups and louder situations. Also, my drum kit is blue and this blends in really nice and compactly. I’m very happy I got this jam block and its big brother too!
