I've had several laser printers over the years and they all had the option to add more memory. i never purchased any, because I never needed it. I noted a user's comments on the is in the HP451DN printer reviews and was intrigued. Would it really make a difference and, since it was so inexpensive, why not give it a try? I ordered the memory and found that it was super-easy to install. There is a door on the side of the printer that opens to reveal the slot for the memory module. All that's required is to turn off the printer, open the door insert the memory module, close the door and plug the printer's power cord back into the wall. That's it! I printed a system status report before and after and saw the memory listed in the "after" report. I haven't printed any big jobs since I installed it, but it seems faster, now. When I start printing tax returns I expect to submit an update with some big performance improvements.

I will echo the sentiments of the other reviewer and say that it works fine in my M451dn HP LaserJet Pro 400 color printer.I found the DIMM a little fussy to install. Press down hard before clicking into place. If it's not in fully, the printer starts up, but the display never comes to life. Don't panic, unplug it and try again.This will bring your ram from 128M to 384M. My expectation is for larger files, this in theory should make the printer faster.

The RAM I purchased appears to be recognized by my M451dn HP LaserJet Pro 400 color printer. The printer doesn't seem especially faster, but for a paltry $15 you can't go wrong. I am appalled at HP for charging several hundred on their web site and for posting an incorrect photo of the RAM.
