Poor Design The threaded strap broke at the last thread near the mount while tightening carefully. I'd read cautions to avoid overtighening and installing at cold temperatures which I heeded. Even with care and installing at a reasonable 55 deg. F this strap snapped. I like Cateye products in general but if they can't make a mount that functions well I'll have to look at other brands.

This was the crappiest, thinnest piece of plastic. It broke during installation while putting hardly ANY pressure on it. Such JUNK! Suppose to be bendable as it wraps around the handlebar, but it just snapped like a frozen potato chip.

Bought this because I lost the retaining nut that holds the bracket to my handlebars. I tried buying the nut at a hardware store, but its a special threading apparently.For $6, it isn't bad value considering the computer is typically $40-50. You get both the nut and the bracket. The only other part you need would be the computer holding bracket sold separate. I think Cateye sells a complete rebuild kit for under $20.Overall, fixed my computer and for the price, it was worth the purchase.

Swapped to a bigger diameter handlebar and therefor had to get a new bracket. Same as original so works great of course.

I recently upgraded my cyclometer and was able to compare an older generation to the most recent version of the Cateye mount. It is a great improvement compared with previous generations. The bracket and the band are separate, so you can can rotate the mount 90 degrees; for either mounting on the bar or stem.A screw knob is used to tighten the band, which makes it easier adjust and cut the band cleanly. It also allows easy removal and re-installation. The friction tape, which you apply yourself, keeps the mount from rotating about the bar.However, the band doesn't handle non-cylindrical surface well, but to my knowledge no other band does any better. I have a road bar that curves from the clamp to the flat section of the bar. It can't be mounted level without using a neoprene shim along the side closer to the flat section of the bar. An alternative would be to mount it on the stem, but I don't like the viewing angle on the stem.The friction tape can migrate a bit under load, but you can slide it back into place if you need to.

Works great, perfect replacement for the original part, goes on easily, no issues. What else can you say? If you need it, purchase it!
