This is an amazing companion to stainless steel litter boxes. It just glides through the litter effortlessly, due to the large holes in the back, grabbing all the clumps on its way. If there are smaller pieces, the front half has a smaller gap area to scoop them up as well. And love the container to hold the scoop.

The handle is too short and the metal seems too flimsy. It bends easily. The end of the handle is too close to your hand so you always get litter on your hands. Not an issue if you wear gloves, but still. Also, I don’t get why the gaps are narrower at the front than the back. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

I've been using a nearly identical scoop for my tofu litter box for months now, and picked this one up for a second box in another part of the house that has crystal litter. This kind of scoop is invaluable for any litter that's bigger than clumping or regular sand. Tofu litter, though narrow, is usually about the size of long-grain rice, and crystal litter is larger and randomly shaped. Both litters, especially the crystal, are slower to sift through regular litter scoops, but this type of scoop is quick and easy. The front part of the shovel has narrow tines but works fine with tofu, and the back part with its wide-set tines is fantastic for crystal litter. At first, the short handle put me off a little, then I found out it's important because if you get a heavy shovelful of litter, the weight can eventually loosen it in the wooden handle. (A couple drops of superglue fixed that problem on my other scoop.)The scoop comes in a very convenient holder so it can sit beside the box. It also has a hook set into it right at the base of the handle so that it can rest on the side of the litter pan if you prefer. Either way, it's great. This scoop would work fine for clumping sand as well, but I prefer to use a regular scoop for those boxes since I have four of them. I use a heavy-duty metal scoop with a two-foot handle because I don't have to bend over much.I love this kind of scoop and highly recommend it for odd or large-sized litter.

I got this so it could collect smaller pieces in the litter and it delivers.

This scoop works better than plastic ones. The handle does unscrew as using it. Need to tighten often. I kept because technically it does work, and has a little holder for it.
