Oil's ability to lower internal engine friction as much as possible is essential. Engine friction raises engine heat and lowers horsepower output. I like low engine heat and high horsepower output, so I have used successful Castrol Extended Oil for years. Most Advanced and Standard synthetic oils allow higher internal engine friction than Extended Oils.

This is the perfect oil for my 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe & 2001 GMC Yukon. I also use this in my 1999 Honda Accord. They run great with zero issues or unfamiliar sounds. I will continue to use this oil as I always have.

I’ve been repairing autos for more than 30 years. I’ve tried many brands of lubricants. I’ve found that with Castrol I don’t get build up, the engines don’t make timing chain noise during cold start especially with high mileage engines and run smoother. I am now brand loyal!

Ever since I got my first car, Prius Gen 2, I have done every single oil change myself and used nothing but original filters, gaskets, and this oil. Never had issues with the oil and my Prius always ran wonderfully although sometimes coming close to losing a quart of oil after 3,000 miles. This is in short due to gen 2 having dirty cylinder rings especially being 20 years old and counting. Planning to do a Piston soak using Berry B12 this coming Spring/Summer and will report back how much oil remains but as far as engine burning oil runners, this oil has never failed. Oil is oil at the end of the day, but testing Amazon basics oil for example had resulted in a quart burned after only 1000 miles. Big difference in quality and outcome.

i'm in my 40s and I've been working on cars and doing my own oil changes since I was 17 years old. I can tell you pretty much any full synthetic. Oil is good oil and it's gonna work well in your car. That being said, some are better than others by very minor tolerances. I was skeptical with the claimed 20,000 mile between oil changes of this oil, but having run it in my Tacoma for the last 15,000 miles, I can tell you this is the best oil I have ever used. The dipstick pictured is 15,000 mile oil it! It still looks and smells new, i'm sure this oil can go 20,000 miles but I change mine every 15k and I'm very happy with that. the price of it is good here on Amazon and you're actually saving money by being able to go three or four times in between oil changes.Get it, you and your car will love it!

Possibly the best Group 3 “full synthetic” on the market. I would put penzoil ultra platinum and mobile 2 annual in the same boat. The thing is until now M1 was the only one to offer annual oil and it’s finally cheaper at $36 a jug. This Edge Extended is the same offer for $25!!! That is Nutz!Should you use this oil for a full year.. Maybe.. should you use it for 20k miles.. I would not do that. Even if you are mostly highway like me I still only push it to 13k miles. That is plenty safe for this oil as long as you use a M1 annual filter with it or an equivalent. I tack on 26k miles per year so I only need to do a change in spring and fall. That’s $50 per year for oil. Not to bad!! Especially when you factor in it is some of the best oil money can buy.Your best best is to use this edge extended and PP ultra. Both are easily 2 of the best oils made. Whenever one is cheaper get that. PP ultra can be had for $24 at times. Same for this edge extended. That is an incredibly good deal for the quality of oil. These 2 oils protect your engine so incredibly well. PP Ultra takes PP natural gas synthetic oil which is borderline superior to all other group 3 oils and adds high performance additive packages. Edge ext is probably the best group 3 oil on the market and it does contain some group 4 PA0s. The reason more people use 0w-40 now even on 5w-30 cars is because it is just thin enough to still work in those cars and since it is a 0w it contains more group 4 PAOs in order to meet that 0w rating. With that u get a super high quality oil and most in that viscosity are priced great in the US due to lower demand.
